I'm assuming around a mile to mile and a half. It wasn't at all. Worst part is that there is a possibility of gators being in there.

We’ll my scouting was pretty good ended up bumping some does that were bedded at an oxbow in the creek, after my scouting I went and pulled my non cell camera and found just what I was looking for IMG_4689.JPG this is the buck I saw on Saturday in my headlights when I pulled in to the parking lot. 5am yesterday and is heading towards the swamp I was going to scout earlier… I’ll be going in around 1:30-2pm to slowly scout my way in to make the kill… Need to channel my inner Holt, hopefully I can be half the swamp/woodsman he is! We are getting closer boys now I just need to get in there and cut some tracks, he’s going to look really good on my wall

Yeah I really didn't want to. But knew I had to try. I kept telling myself he's just around the corner. And then I saw the Swamp and thought "well ****". Decided to take the risk, and once he circled back to that Swamp it was clear he wasn't slowing down. And he headed into a part of the Swamp that was just impassable for me. So I had to call it.

Maybe it was the gators that found him first.

That is a good point. But I kinda doubt it. Unless they got him when he was in the part of the Swamp I couldn't get too.

Yeah I'm always in awe of you southern guys. I watch the catman and few other southern hunters and I wonder how you ever think about deer hunting with all those snakes and other creepys around. This northern boy would not be able to concentrate.

Honestly the snakes really won't bother you. But to say I wasn't keeping a watchful eye out for them while tracking i would be lying. What you really have to watch out for are the spiders. They'll get you with out you even knowing they were there. But it's not all that bad. Just have to keep an eye out for the hot spots and try to avoid them. Honestly kinda use to it all now. I moved down here about 3 years ago from Maryland. But due to my job I tend to run into spiders on a daily basis.Talking black widows and brown recluses. Every once in a blue moon we'll find a snake on the jobsite.

Spot I scouted 2 years ago but never hunted. Within 20 yds of the marker I placed begins a big rub line leading up to these oaks off this skinny ridge. Oaks dropping.

Green as heck out here. 20211020_145701.jpg

I’m up for the evening. A little warm but nice breeze hitting me in the face. Seem to have good reception here so will try to post if things get exciting. Looking for a buck only. Unless a doe tempts me too much. We will see.
Good luck everyone else who’s out.

I'm up 20 feet. It's warmed up some 68 from 45 this morning.

Had 4 does this am but not enough light. Then I had a cool encounter with a 4 pt with some mass for a little guy.

He is going to be a good buck. He was stopping every 30-40yards and waiting 1 min or 2 before he would proceed
