I’ve got my number 1 tracked down pretty good. Consistent daylight pictures of him on the south end of our place. Getting a stand hung over there in the next week. Here’s to hoping he sticks around another month or so and sticks around after he sheds velvet. I’ll post up some pictures of my updated bucks tomorrow. So many 2 year olds.

Jake..., always fun seeing good bucks this time of year on cams but..., A Great chance it's a here today/gone tomarro thing.
I put ZERO stock Into summer pics.
Nice to know they are around and older bucks typically don't travel far but...
Been running cams since they first ones came out and have had my heart broke many (most) times.

    I’m in.

Other question. How old is this deer? I’ve been told by numerous people they think he’s 2 1/2… it doesn’t matter to me because I’m shooting either way, just curious what you think. I think he’s 3 1/2 based off rack. Still really early to judge by neck/body size (but he does look kind of small in that area).

I'd put him 3 1/4, still has 3 months to be that 1/2.

Summer coats are misleading and heat and drought has to have an effect on body mass for deer just the same as any other mammal. The more you sweat the more water weight you can lose. Could be a stud of a 2 1/4 though, anything is possible.

Hoping the recent smallies are the prelude to your buck hunting this season.

Looking forward to your encounters this year.

Where I'm from that is a 3 year old all day long. Yes, it could be a 2 year old with awesome potential, but in my opinion that varies by location and nutrition availability. Here in the southern Ozarks we don't have 2 year olds that look like that. Looking at what he's walking through, though, nutrition isn't a problem.

I have to say that I'm right there with you though. If he walked by me I'd shoot him, have him aged and find out for sure.

I agree with coming up on 3 1/2 this year. Guess we will only know when you give him a dirt nap and show us some teeth!!

No obvious kicker in the second picture, looks like different deer with very similar racks, probably have the same dad.
