What killed me was watching her stand there at 35 yds. I went to grab my quiver and couldnt get the arrow out with one hand and it came off the hook and almost fell to the ground. I would have put another in her if i could have reached it. Ill try to post the video of the way she was standing there then walked away. Like i said when we saw blood where she was standing we all thought we would follow right to a dead deer. We all belly crawled through some thick stuff im still picking thorns out of my hands. Ive been doing this long enough i know it happens but still makes you sick. And to answer your question yes still using Slicktrick magnums and the broadhead looked fine. The arrow was buried in the dirt so the head was covered in mud. Im with you on lung cause the piles of blood we did find had a few bubbles. Im pretty bummed but i know i just need to climb back in the saddle. I almost called off work to look but the other landowner never called me back. We scoured the other 2 properties. Early season hunts suck for this reason. 43 degrees at time of kill, 65 when looking for her. Im not going out again until it cools off some.

Just about noontime. Nothing moving. Gonna pack it up soon. Don’t want to burn myself out. Very enjoyable hunt even though I didn’t see anything.

Wow that was an awesome morning! Ended up seeing 10 deer in total. Going to get some lunch then I’ll be back on stand by 3-3:30!! Sitting by a scrape that had 6 different bucks hit it between 5pm and 8pm last night

    60%...physically.

Feels like my lower back was beaten... Less lightening bolts/spasms, but I'm also really not doing any walking /lifting or physical activity. I mowed the lawn Sat, shot a few arrows yesterday...

Back on stand in SC. Sitting on the edge of a powerline cut through. Lots of fresh tracks as I was entering.

On my way out last night I spooked a deer and it ran right by one of my cameras. Blurry and hard to make out, but looks like a goooood buck. I may know where he is living now that I've seen him. Have not seen any scrapes where they usually are, but did see a large bush destroyed on my way in yesterday. (Cue the jokes) Still on the fence for hunting this eve. It's a marathon not a sprint.

All set up! Still hunted my way in to my preset sticks, we’ll stepps actually. Bumped a fawn when I was 15 yards away so that made me feel like I did a good job sneaking in. Set up over an active scrape, 6 different bucks visited it last night between 5-8. Almost identical conditions as last night minus about 5-10 degrees… going to be a good sit!!!
