Pretty much, yeah. I wasn’t that mad about it even when it happened. In the strictest sense of the law, he was right and I was wrong. However, it wasn’t very classy considering I was set up an hour before he got there. But, it worked in my favor, so I can’t really complain.

I’m back on stand in a different spot for the last sit of this trip.

I got down at 11:00 and walked around the field edge. Scrapes and rubs everywhere. Still, I found a great spot 40 yards inside the woods between two major trails leading to the field.

I put my stand on the tree, left my gear and was walking back to the truck. My foot got caught in some old barbed wire and I face-planted hard.

I’m thinking I’m going to be lucky to survive this trip.

Congrats guys killer Sunday for sure.
Did a soak and went out with a mayhem hunting arrow and an old feather Fletcher Easton 2117. Shots are great with mayhem 1/2 " groups and the Easton hitting 1" left each shot. Which for that arrow isn't bad either. Problem is the struggle was real drawing back. Had a hard time locking shoulders in and now there is muscle twitching. Granted I shot 16 x' s. Drawing back got more and more difficult. Thinking I'll give it one more day. Shoot again tomorrow. It only takes one good draw and shot, as they say let the first one count.
BTW I bought my first wrist or hand sling...I believe it made a difference this year. Very seldom do I get a torque left shot by any degree .

 This kind of stuff usually never happens to me. I’m usually too careful. (My wife would call BS on that but I swear it’s true :tu:)

Saw nothing this morning. Back out now. Trying something different. Sitting on the edge of cut corn and a green field 20yds behind me. Deer, Bear and Turkey on the menu. 52 and partly cloudy. Wind in my face. Three hours to go. Good luck everyone!

Quick build to sling my bow when I am biking in. Looks pretty solid so far. Trial run soon to come.

Also got my electric bike. Thing is sweet. Made it 3 miles in the other day from the gate and near zero sign of hunters that far. Could be a game changer for this property for me. 20211017_154913.jpeg 20211017_154926.jpeg 20211017_154934.jpeg

Set up on downwind edge of property. Bedding to my north. Acorns here and there and a couple active scraps in the area. Not expecting much.

    Good luck PM shift!

Got on stand at 4pm but I guess that was to late. 2 does busted me as I was walking in. Then as I was climbing up something else was in the thick stuff next to me and took off. Never got a look at. The am hunt unproductive. 3 fresh ground scrapes on the way in.

Testing my will power. Small doe. I think it was one of the ones that took off on my way in. She keeps looking back for the second deer but it hasn't shown up yet. IMG_20211017_164504.jpeg

Wind has all but died, very quiet here. Will hear them coming, if they do, cause most of the leaves are off the trees.

I might not see anything but I feel like I’m in a good spot. Lost of acorns fresh rubs and a scrape all within 25yds of my tree. This is my first time hunting this pice of public land and first time in a saddle.
