My son and I had a great sit tonight. He passed up on a big doe with two fawns. Then we had about a 300lb bear come in beside the blind and offered me a 7 yd shot. Bad news is the phantom limb got in the way and deflected the arrow right over his back. He didn't scare too bad so I'm sure there will be another encounter with him in our future. I'll be kicking myself for this for a long time.

I’m back at the house. Ended up seeing five does and the ugliest 4 point I’ve ever seen. He had a spike on the right side and the left side looked like a turkey foot minus the back claw.

Three of the does came straight to my tree and actually stood right under me for about 15 minutes. They kept looking up at me trying to figure out what I was but they eventually meandered out into the field.

Back to the house. Saw a little 6 point and the SIL saw the pie bald . It is either a small buck or a doe. Hope to get it on camera soon!

Speaking of cameras. Just did a photo dump and it looked good.

Be back after them in the morning!

Well had a good sit this afternoon seen a couple of does and two small bucks almost shot a doe but held off all was in range. I will be back in the stand tomorrow afternoon on some public land I have never hunted. Should be interesting.

Way to go Brotha! Super cool you got to experience that with your daughter. How old is she?

So, we specifically went in to see how big this buck was in person. He walked in to 10 yards with a honeysuckle branch draped over his head from rubbing. Em cried when I told her he needed another year to grow. 2 smaller bucks and a doe joined him in front of the blind for 15 mins. It was just too perfect...

12 yards, slight quarter away, arrow stuck in off side shoulder. I never saw a drop of blood and never found the arrow. He ended up 65-70 yards away, dead in the creek.
