    I’m going to give it another half hour or so and then get down to get some lunch. I planned to sit until noon but I don’t think my stomach is going to let me.

    Can’t nap! Thinking of going into some super thick stuff that I’ve only ground hunted a few times a few years ago. The heavy wind will cover me a bit. Worth a shot!

    Theres only one real bottom area and it is all standing water swamp right now.

    No birds but great morning. Rain, non stop, lightening to my rt and lft. but missed me. I had birds near but they never made it to the roost down the ridge from me. The gobbling was in neighbors woods behind me and on the edge of the field.
    I did have a heart pounding encounter on the way in.dark as ink and even with a light hard to see in the rain. We now have to wear orange in any gun season. So I had an orange cap on. I took my light and folded the cap round it. Gave me a nice orange glow to walk in by. Well don't let anyone tell you deer can see orange. I wasn't looking up as I walked and literally walked into a buck on the trail. OMG!!! He literally snorted in my face just once twirled and took just a few bounds into the dark. Dang glad I had a good morning constitutional... all I saw was a flash of bone as he turned, sounded heavy though, or that was my heart pounding in my ears. Not quite sure which.
    Got home at 10, checked field and saw nothing. I put very wet gear in basement to dry came upstairs and out the kitchen window are ALL the turkey coming back down the hill to our woods. Quick redressed and ran out but they had already passed. Pretty sure I'll see sign around the beech and oak...Lol Let The games begin.
    Oh phone, hubby found on bathroom sink....
