I agree 100%, as I've always been a climber guy, only did a few seasons with LW assault and LW sticks when I needed to, mainly in Illinois. This is why I use my modded summit viper for my platform and climbing method while saddle hunting. I can literally be up a tree in under 10 minutes hunting. Last season I was about 40 yards from where I needed to be during an all-day rut sit, so I climbed down and set up 40 yards away, and it took a total of 25 minutes from start to finish. Granted I'm fortunate to hunt in an area with oaks and maples which allows me to use a climber.

Here's a video of exactly what I do.

Haven't moved on the the saddle bros yet, but I will say if I could get a summit climber in more than one tree around here I would prefer it over my LW and sticks. Where you hunt those climbers are hard to beat. Plus you can nap in one. We all know it and have been guilty of it.

It looks just like a Lineman climbing a pole.

I've thought a lot about trying a saddle setup. I spent a lot of time climbing and cutting trees in a saddle, so I feel like it would be second nature aside from some subtle differences. Maybe next year. My dad used his spikes, ropes and saddle to hunt some deep spots back in the early 90s. If only he would have marketed it. Ha!

there's this awesome thing called a video recorder built into your phone. I would tell you to try it, but you being the OG Swamp Stalker, I am sure I would regret it in short order.

You would probably take to being a Bruh quite naturally then, stop lugging heavy crap into the woods!

I would go back to a climber rather than a hang on if I was to stop using the saddle. I am contemplating finding a cheap used Summit and using the bottom to get up limbless trees as @Swamp Stalker does and shows in the video. I will say, that the new climbing sticks I bought are way better than the ones I used the last couple of years. I will be a lot faster getting up the tree than I was with that set up. I know you were calling me out, you are just too polite to tag me. :poke::lol:

So unprepared on the beer note, that backpack could easily hold a 30 and some sealed bags of ice.......
