I like the look of the forecast for next week after what appears to be a front comes through on Saturday.

This looks promising! So the big question, are you going to hold out for a big one? I know you like shooting deer, so if you do this is going to be a big test.

I am going to try to go for 125... that being said a 100inch deer also looks really really good lol. It will all depend on what i am getting on camera and seeing. If it gets to the end of the week I have no problem shooting a smaller one. and if one of those heavy does comes by later in a morning hunt they are probably in big trouble!!

Back in my jeep. I found where that buck (scrape line who I was hunting over) was bedding. I’m pretty sure it’s the same buck I’ve seen the past two seasons during the rut, which puts him at 3 this year. Two years ago I saw him coming out of a Laurel patch as a 6 inch spike. Last year I saw him come out of the same Laurel patch at about a 10 inch fokhorn. No idea what he has this year, but I did bump him pretty hard out of his bed. I just wanted to confirm what I thought. Sounds like a perfect buck for my dad to go after. I’m sure he’ll be back there this evening, after all his plan worked and he survived. So funny when you find a buck bed, you look around to see what he sees, and it’s like yeah makes perfect sense now.

No luck this morning. Gonna eat and nap switch areas and hunt an area where I had good luck last year.

I'm getting most out of the way because our cold front starts on the 15th and just drops there after......So they say. Though the snow out west gives me hope.next 2 days I need to make casseroles for hubby. This makes my hunting afternoons way easier.. today I cleaned up two ground sites for a wide open shot out to thirty yards . Taking fold up decoys out to spray down and air out. Good luck to all you guys getting this front now.

Was that laurel on the ridges... Toward the water we spoke about a year or two ago?

My guess, he/they must be checking scrapes in the evening and/or overnight...

I haven't really sat near water early this year... I also haven't seen jack ****, this year, moving in the big woods in the mornings....

Rain is tapering off here. Planning to go hang a camera over a community scrape and I'll probably have to clear a shooting lane as quietly as possible. Some oaks back there too. It's just hard to access this part of the property. Probably going in around 2.

No, this was in the flat areas I've been in for years. I've been waiting for the colder weather to hit those deep spots we've discussed in years past. Now I know what goes on there, I'm waiting for the right time so I don't stink it up! Next week, I'll be going to those deep spots after the front passes through.

Got to my spot. Deep out on a lake. Checked my trail cam after 2 months and it had a good amount of pics. Nothing bigger than a 2 yr old but a steady stream of does. Beneficial come a few more weeks. I'm set up hoping on the best.

    Why me????

I can’t see the attachment, but something tells me it’s a bear.

I’ll finally be heading out again this afternoon. I’m only going across the road on my home place.

I need to check the cameras anyway so as long as I’m over there I might as well try to kill one.

Thanks bro… that’s about an hour N of me. I’m back up this spot is beautiful. Heavy trails, good bedding, couple nice white oaks, lake 100 yds away.

If I do shoot one it’s gonna be a race … prolly gonna piss range control off.
