I'm a natural shoulder hugger. Living in hill country where a lung hit deer can run a long ways and I've had two buck taken on me. I learned quick in gun season I do not need shoulder meat and drop them on the spot. I've accidentally done the same with the compound because I have drifted. That said, had a deer search guy tell me they preferred seeing a middle shot deer because those are the easiest for dogs to recover.
Semi live from the back yard... A minute prior he had his head in the bucket, but couldn't get that last bit of water in the bottom due to his rack.
I do but it needs tuned. Flys all over. Comes out a little nock left. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
well i had a great experience last night, went out to a section of public i started hunting last year. Set up a stand for my dad and we kicked up a few deer bedded. Then moved down to another section of the public to mark trees for my saddle set up and one for my manager who is going to come out hunting on saturday with me. go into this new section not far from where i have my cell cam, walk about 30 yards into the woods and here is a nice probably close to 100in 8 point standing there at 30 yards just watching me and my dad, he never spooked just fed around on acorns and came to about 15-20 yards then fed off. After that we went the opposite direction and started finding a ton of acorns and sign. I got to a little clearing and look up and there stands 3 does watching us, they hung around for a few minutes and got to about 10 yards at one point before blowing and bounding back to about 40, then they slowly worked off in the distance. Got a tree picked out for saturday right where the does were... confidence is high!!!
Go get 'em! Put team 11 on the board! Can't wait for season to open up. I'll be out at least once for opening weekend. I can't believe it's nearly here!
Bring your kid to work day apparently, not gonna make it hunting tonight. These ass hat workers are so flipping slow. If it wasn’t for an inspection tomorrow I’d just dip out! Good luck PMer’s
Cooling down here, but still getting south winds and a chance of rain. You gonna go regardless? Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
No way, I want those lows to be the highs I sweat too much and attract mosquitos and bees about like OND. Mosquito bites get the size of quarters or bigger. I just can't justify the drive to endure such. First deer I shoot that is not a mature buck is going to a coworker
