Not sure if my old man will be in the woods this year. He took a tumble a few weeks ago and messed up his knee. He has balance issues as it is. I'm sure he will be ok enough to go to one of his spots that are 100 yards from the parking.
One of my favorite spots is only 200 yards from an interstate. If the deer want to be there, he will have an opportunity.
Considering that it was me that suggested the Heat Vanes to LC, I think my team should get a 10-point "finder's fee" bonus every time he punches a tag with a 100 point bonus if he sets a new PR, again.
I think this is a different buck that I also got last night from Ohio. It's from a different camera than the other one I posted and it's nearly the same time. I think he might be an 11pt I've been getting pictures of on a pretty regular basis Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
If you haven't seen it already, Brett, the Bohning website recommends four fletch with Heat Vanes if you shoot fixed blade heads. I'll be shooting some Grim Reapers this year and I still went with four fletch Heat Vanes. I probably have a little more drag on the arrow and it starts to show past 60 yards, but they sure do fly good.
Yes, but now you will be one of the cool kids when you do, never underestimate that value of cool points.
Thanks buddy. I just want accuracy so that sounds great. After last years two blown shots I need to get back to business with my accuracy.

Just got me a new stand yesterday! Think this thing will fix all the issues I had last year with getting into a good position and not break down my form. If anyone is looking for a small and light lock on, definitely check out the new Novix Helo. Great little stand! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
This should be my first year getting to hunt roosey elk during archery season. I will also be able to go after black tail this year. We have lived here in Washington for three years. The first season I was deployed and the next season I was in the hospital with malaria, (thanks Afghanistan) so this should be the year. I have time off during the beginning of the season. I also got the Weyerhaeuser pass so that should help. I will also be going back to Missouri for opener of rifle season which is a family tradition but bringing my bow for the week prior. I actually tried to pick up their tracks this morning on the way out of fishing. Didnt look long but didnt see anything. Its all a big no hunting zone lowland flanked by private land ridges and farmland. If I did spot them again Id have to get private land permission. If that big one survived and got any bigger he may be pushing B and C. More than likely he was close last year. I may never see a buck that big again.
