Had fun scouting today, walking my new property. Got a couple cameras up, and have spots picked for stands as soon as I take possession. So many nice mature oak trees. Crops look great also. Come on October. Right now I'm sitting on a corn field holding our spot for goose opener tomorrow.
Big cold front for me this weekend. Standby for bloody arrows. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Okay in deep! I’m in a saddle, both the terrain kind and the Uber cool kind! I’m in the middle of a white oak grove. Only a little bit of sign, but a few fresh scrapes on the edges. Let’s see what happens!

So let's get this straight. Your in a saddle, wearing a saddle, with fresh sign on acorns? Definitely checks all boxes for a hero shot later. Best of luck sir. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Same for NJ. 67 now, 42 at shooting light tomorrow. Bringing heated vest, hand and toe warmers. Gonna try and stay to 11 in the AM and then back in at 2:30 for the PM. Both Saturday and Sunday. May also hunt the ground blind both sits, both days, depending on what i see today from the tree.

Supposed to be in the high 30s tomorrow morning here. I’m sleeping in! I’ll be out in the afternoon though!
So... I heard a bull pipe off with a locator at 2:30 well above me. So I worked up the hill and eventually let off a locator. More cow chirps up the hill. I hear all kinds of calls to the side of to me maybe 50yds+ Apparently I split a small herd. Saw a cow run down the mountain. As the wind blew cross hill. As I texted my woes to my buddy, I hear above me more calling... Lost calf calls like crazy. Slowly move up and can see brown blobs moving through breaks on the pines... Wind blows up the mtn and here we are. FML but man I love it!
You're already close to one, Pa! The season starts tomorrow in my WMU. I'm holding off until next week though, so I'll have the woods pretty much to myself. Weekdays are the ticket on the public land I hunt.
