Put my buddies son in my spot on the plot again tonight while i hunted the outskirts of the property. He got it done on a nice doe. I didnt see squat! Lol oh well. Ill be back at it next weekend. Give the place a break to cool down
I wussed out Christmas morning, 20mph gusts, single digit temps and below zero wind chill didn't suit my fancy. New Years Day however may be the ticket, might get some snow NY Eve and that will get me out there. I have no idea what I'll do with it though, I have a 20lb. ham from work thatI have to rearrange the freezers to fit. No clue how I'll fit another deer. Regardless, it will be turned into jerky aside from loins and backstraps.
Happy Monday!! I'm going this afternoon with a buddy that's new to hunting. His oldest and our oldest play hockey together, and him and I are on the same team in the adult league. He's hoping to shoot another doe. I'm taking him to the in-laws. Hopefully they are up and moving before the weather changes. Good Luck, everyone!!!

What an excellent morning here in Northern Minnesota. Seen 11 bucks from the cabin this morning along with maybe 20 does. Couple good bucks I've not seen before and an old 8 that I assumed was dead. Very cool morning!

Ugh, New Years day looking a bit iffy now. Was hoping for snow, but between tomorrow and Friday looking at rain, ice, snow or a combination of all 3. Getting 1 1/2- 3" of liquid regardless. Was hoping for a few inches of snow to end it, but not looking good for my area now. Better idea in the morning. Going to be a last minute decision and possibly radar check morning of. If I don't get out this weekend I'm likely done. Work is calling for everyone to put in all the hours and effort they can, January is going to ramp up. They are anticipating having to outsource some of the work to a other machining plants as we don't have the manpower to take it all on ourselves.
Going to be heading to MD in the morning, the cell camera has been a little slower than it was two weeks ago but still getting at least a daylight picture per day of doe coming through. The property owners son said there is some serious deer sign by the other stand on the property, he said if I were you I’d be in that one, dad will be set up on the other side of the property so hopefully between the two of us we can get something on the ground!!
Between dad and i we’ve seen 7 this morning, I had a button at 10 yards, the others were about 100 yards from dad... right infront of the one stand we aren’t hunting lol
