Going to try and hunt this afternoon. The wind is howling this morning!! Supposed to switch to the NW as the day goes on.

    Good Luck, everyone!

    Merry Christmas!

Buck came through just before legal shooting light. Could hear him rubbing trees.

Just witnessed an epic squirrel battle royale. Chasing, biting, and multiple falls from 30-40 ft up in the tree... They didn't land like super heroes...but did get back up. I figured one died as it got real quiet, but I don't see any carcass...

I managed to hang a decent set on the clover plot last night. The doe parade i had few nights ago didnt come back. Saw that 2yo 8pt and a spike and that was it. Probably try a different spot this weekend but i have Christmas’s for the next few days

I'm up and set. I'm back after that white footed doe. I setup in a bigger tree tonight to try and hide better. Still a pile of tracks moving thru this area. Just a crap shoot for which trail they take. Let's see what happens!

Good luck Holt! Old white foot would be a nice prize for your efforts.

Thank you. Yes she will. She's the biggest doe I've seen this year, but have feeling that she will be about impossible to get. Fun trying though!

I've been up as is my daughter Grace. Im pretty much observing again. Hoping Grace gets a shot. In the winter forest I can see a long ways. Tons of deer tracks here at this new stand set up.

No (live) deer spotted. A good bit of sign and the scrape and busted branches from this morning... Within 50 yds, just not light yet.

I did find the squirrel HQ. While eating lunch, I had 7 chasing each other around on an oak tree in the middle of a swamp. 20201223_104451.jpeg

Warm out today, a toasty 40 as it has been all week. Makes for very comfortable hunting.

Getting ready to head to the ground blind. It's REALLY windy!!! Hopefully the wind will die down a bit close to sundown.

I'll report back once I'm landed in the blind, if it hasn't blown away. lol

    Good Luck, everyone!!

Pulled up to the in-laws and nothing was in the plot. Got dressed and headed that way. Bumped 4 does out of the plot. They normally come back.

Nothing for me. It was a really still night, not much of anything moving.

Saw 11 Does, had 4 in range but let them walk. When I come back by myself New Years I'll shoot one for my parents to have. Grace saw 2 but they never came in range. That will end this trip. Merry Christmas everyone!

Still planning on getting out Christmas morning. Going to load up the 4 wheeler tomorrow after work(1/2 day) and will be turning in early. Going to be nearly single digits in the morning with below zero windchills, gotta get some gloves for sure.

Will be a brown and down day, bleating fawn to grunting buck I don't get sentimental on stand.
