Falling off the ladder on Thanksgiving kept me out of the woods last weekend. Family commitments did it today. Although, I did shoot my bow at home. My back is doing much better and I was able to hold my bow at full draw for a minute. First time I have done that since falling. Hopefully, I will be pain free in another day or two.

Gotta tell you, its tough out there where I'm hunting in VT and NJ. Not many deer this year. Makes it hard to keep going out to just look at trees. I have been though cause I like just looking at trees too.

    2020, nuff said....

I think most who are not physically drained from grinding out their season are mentally drained from an atrocity of a year in all regards.

I know I am miles from where I would normally be this time of year and still can't see that finish line. 2020 can suck it.

Enough with all that talk, I'm gonna do my best to not use a single hour of vacation time between now and next November.

Congratulations! That IS a big bodied deer.

I know because my brother is 6'7" and weighs 350+ and he usually makes big deer look small.

You really need to convince the wife that another trip to Missouri is essential.

Sounds like the buck I killed in NW Missouri last season. Huge bodied buck. I took coolers with me on the trip but had to buy a bigger cooler because I couldn't fit a single hindquarter into the coolers I'd brought with me.

That's awesome! I'm happy for you!

Well. I did not see anything tonight. It was fun to be back out in the woods though after not going for almost 3 weeks. Not sure if I will get back out again with my bow this year. It’s been a great year though!

Day 2 of shotgun season... seen one doe yesterday and she came through in a hurry and took a right turn when I needed her to take a left... another gear recommendation, iwom body suit, it’s big, it’s bulky, but holy hell is it warm. I literally walked in in my baselayers, for set up, put this thing on, and I am now almost at the point of sweating, and it’s 30* out, and I’m not moving... this thing is gonna be amazing on those all day sits in November when it’s 40* all day and just eventually wears you down and chills you to the bones...

Good luck to any die hard grinders out there this morning. I’ve been putting some hours in at work. My bow is at the shop being restrung and tuned. After that fall from the tree it just wasn’t the same. Or my brain wasn’t the same. I’m thinking it was all in my head but it needed re strung bad anyway. He said cam timing was a little off . New string, new arrows. Can’t wait to get it back and sighted in. I’m off for about 13 out of 16 days around Christmas so I’ll be hitting it hard.
