Straight up towards the road from that spot where you identified might be a bedding area, “cougar road”.
It feels weird, but I put my blind about 120 yards from the main county road. There is a funnel created from a stretch of timber that goes right up to the road edge on both sides, with wide open ground all around it. The timber creates a funnel they like to use for cover when they want to cross the road, they really use it a lot during the cruising and chase phases.

No luck this evening, saw 6 but they never even thought about getting close. Left my sticks up for tomorrow, should be out all day; hoping I’ll fill a tag or 2 by 9am though.

Nothing moved by me. Was really quiet at closing time and the moon was coming up on the horizon. Beautiful chilly evening.

I'm going to do a dark to ..... tomorrow. I haven't hunted out of this particular tree at first light yet, so I'm hoping I can catch something moving early.

I saw the biggest mainframe 8 pointer I’ve ever seen in my life yesterday. Had to be 160” + . He has super wide bladed G2’s that looked like a foot long and had crab claws on both of them. He was in this brushy field that I had just watched 2 smaller bucks chase a hot doe around about a half hour before. I grunted at him 2 times. He ignored me and put his nose to the ground. I snort wheezed at him. He took 2 steps my way then nose back to ground. He marched around in circles sniffing everywhere that doe was. My arms got so tired of holding my Binos I just had to put them down eventually. He filtered out of sight onto private property. The closest he was to me was about 150 yds but my knee would still tremble when I looked at him through the Binos. I just started hunting this area this year. Had 4 Giant bucks spotted and got to draw back on 2 of them. So freaking close, it’s bound to happen soon. Problem is I have to work pretty much every day till Dec 18th. Late season is my only hope now. Sucks cause I’m still seeing a lot of rut activity.

This was my Sunday morning hunt. The triplets fed in front of me for an hour while their mom ran wind sprints in the field. She would get to 20 and then sprint back out to 60...then repeat. No shot. 20201129_113810.jpg

Wish you had a pic or two of that giant, but at that distance he'd only be a blurry spot. I hope you get a chance at him.

There's still a lot of rut activity here also.

I had something similar happen to me a few years back. Fell 8 feet off a ladder and landed on my back across the rungs. Walked it off, cussed, grunted, etc. decided to go to the ER, they found a broken transverse bone on my spine. Might be a good idea to get checked out.

It crossed my mind to try to take one through my Binos but I’ve never had good luck with that. He was a sight to see though that’s for sure!
