Well I'm at my buddy's family farm in an elevated blind. Nothing so far, but I think the thermals are just starting to rise which makes this spot really good. Suuuuure would like to kill one.

Missed an 8pt at 20 this year. It happens. Brush it off and keep going.

At least you had the chance to release the arrow. I have had 8 deer in range, drawn twice, and had to let down both times because the deer moved off without coming into a shooting lane.

I'll be doing an evening hunt today, and perhaps an all day sit tomorrow. Dependent on what my cams show today. That small 6pt on the tail of a doe yesterday was probably the latest in the season that I've seen chasing. I just hope it continues!

I’ve relocated, pond in front of me, dead tree on ground to my left, funky terrain to my right, huge rub line in front. I feel like I have a good funnel spot, but... F10D80B5-03A2-4307-9624-8F2AE79D8FFB.gif

So I actually think I figured out part of the issue. When I had my new site put on when mine broke I also had my bow restrung. It was needed but I was gonna wait for the off season. When I shot it yesterday at the target I was a bit low, and when I went to adjust the site it was almost maxed out height-wise already. I thought that was weird but didn't have a lot of time. It took me a bit longer to aquire site picture as well. But I could put them into the center ring. Looking at it this morning, no way I should have my site maxed out like that, can't even see the level bubble when I aim. Pretty sure the bow tech put my peep too low. That would explain my low shot because my normal anchor point is not centered in the ring.

Doing something I haven't done since 2007, working on a weekend in November.

Shotgun weekend and no permit so couldn't hunt anyway.

    Won't happen next year though!

It does sound like the peep wasn't properly placed. I hope you get it completely worked out. There's nothing like missing twice to have you questioning everything.
