Never thought about trail cams on a military base, can see how that would be frowned upon

I'm sure it will help you, either give you the confirmation you need or the need to switch it up a bit.

Last year you put them down in October, maybe this year you show your late season prowess, not everyone(like me) is rut dependent.

I know I’ve been there before, only at 20 yards. **** happens. All you can do is learn from it, pick your head up and keep on going!

So I discovered what all you guy's eat camp, anything jalapeno. Hubby has a favorite chip jalapeno zero, only one box of hot pepper crackers, one bag of hot pretzel pieces, 4 jars of "ghost pepper" salsa. I assume those are the REALLY HOT peppers...lol whole sections of the chip isle was empty. Parking lot filled with trailered ATV's...hhhmmm guys getting to camp early this year.
Well hubby took both hides to one to the shops that buy them. They were only giving 50 cents to 1 dollar. They gave a buck each. I remember when we'd get 3-4 dollars a hide. I had to laugh they told him they weren't taking hides full of holes....that may say a lot about the local hunters...hhhmmmm

    Oh dude..., I've missed m at 5 yards,10 yards,20 yards.
Bad part about an easy miss is the mind games that follow.

Might make it out for the PM shift, before hockey practice. We're heading to IA to pick out a puppy. Our youngest's birthday is Tuesday. He's been asking for a puppy since our lab, who would've been 16 this past June, passed away a year ago. Getting another black lab.

    Good Luck, killa's!

I’ve been up since 4:00 but not to hunt.

My son left this morning after 19 days here. He had a successful trip this time and he left with the button buck and doe he killed as well as the first buck I killed, all processed, frozen and in coolers.

I found out that 11 processed deer is just about maximum capacity for us. I might have been able to force one more small one in somewhere. Until my son left, the upright freezer was full, the freezer drawer in the fridge was full and even the freezer in the travel trailer was full.

Kentucky gun season runs through next week so I plan to head that way Sunday and try to punch my Kentucky buck tag.

Big buck was nailing a doe as I pulled into my spot, drove right past them no more than 10 yards. I was already turning so no backing out. 3 doe at first light but nowhere close to a shot. Might give it 30min and take my sticks deeper in.
