    Dude, you gotta take it easy on yourself. I understand being disappointed in your shot and not recovering a deer, but you don't have let it eat at yourself for the whole off season. You need some positive self talk. It's not going to be easy to make a good shot when you are telling yourself you suck. Target practice a bit, build confidence, tell yourself you can make a good shot, visualize it from the tree, and then kill the next deer that presents a shot. If you thought you were perfect, you were slapped with reality....not a bad thing, NONE OF US ARE! Hunting is supposed to be fun, relaxing, a pleasure, not a stress filled time of self loathing and regret. Enjoy the time out there and be thankful for the opportunities. Positive vibes man....positive vibes.

    We homeschool as well. Have been since by oldest started. He will be 14 Saturday. Have 4 kids total.

    my 14 y/o and I are out with our guns. Firearm season opened Sunday but this is our first chance to get out.
