    Swamp, I have until the end of Nov in my WMU. I'm not going in this evening. At 63, my thoughts aren't always aligned with my ambition! :lol:

    Get up.
    Today is the day.

    I will pass on these words of encouragement that were sent to me not so long ago

    20201118_103848.jpg 20201118_103804.jpg I got him to my stand. I had to double back to get gear... round corner and there is a bigger buck jumping and gouging him . I yell and he turns into apples then snorts at me! Lol
    See pines on other side of valley he went down and all the way across our hill. Revenge!

    Sounds like you're dealing with unreasonable/unfriendly folks. A deer certainly isn't worth altercation.

    Honestly brother if he's still alive at this point he just might make it. Unless that property owner just wants to vulture your kill.

    Is the nearest water in a place you can access? That deer is going to have to drink soon

    Im out of the stand and warming up.

    Wind is blowing too hard and swirling every direction. I had two nice deer come in and bust me before they were in range. Wind is supposed to die down a tiny bit this afternoon, I’ll probably be out in a few hours.

    @oldnotdead congratulations on your buck!

    @skylerpreston
    Sorry man, That is a disappointing end. Sounds like you have done everything you can to recover your deer. All you can do now is move forward and get back in the stand!

    Yeah there’s a pond 150 yards on the property I had permission to track him but that guy blatantly told me “just cuz I’m lettiing you go shoot him out of his bed don’t mean I’m giving you permission to hunt here in the future”. I’m not mad at him for that tho I understand he don’t want ppl hunting. I’m just mad at someone that would rather let it suffer than let me on their land for maybe an hour. Funny thing is his first bed I bumped him in was 50 yards from that pond. That’s why I went there to grid search first. There’s is a pond on my landowners side too but i don’t see him going 500 or more yards to the pond on my side.

    Well that wraps up my day, can’t hunt this evening. Still super upset about my encounter with that nice buck but what can ya do? That’s hunting! Season ends on Friday here then Rifle season coming up next weekend (I think I’ll be using my bow) and then late season archery after that. Still time to get it done, not giving up!

    Thanks. Thanks I needed that. I just sent this to my oldest daughter.

    "Here is what's gonna happen Today. I'm gonna kill a buck and then tomorrow we are gonna go buy your dad a new truck. Sound good?"

    100% THIS ^^^ single lunged deer can live... tho I am thinking the arrow, or part of it is still hindering him, making him want to keep lying down... I was nervous when your post said there was zero blood in his beds.... that sucks bad, man...
