Finally a cool morning. We have a hockey game outside this morning. Plan on being in the blind this afternoon. Wind is supposed to die down as the day goes along!! Good Luck, everyone!!
Gonna brave the wind this morning. I'm not sure I have a great spot for West winds but I have one that will work i think. I had a dream last night that I was lost, looking for more milk weed in a field...the struggle is real. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Winds woke me twice last night. This came through 6 hours early. Alarm went off and it was turned off and I went back to sleep. Now it's even worse. Only 5 days left but not today this is a good reminder why. Hhhmm......pics won't come up...so my flattened ground blind.... Stay safe and successful guys
Good luck on the wind thing. We are under an advisory I SEMO. 15 to 25 with gusts up to 40!!! This weather is crazy! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Two different weather channels say NE wind, It couldn’t be more south. Which is fine. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Absolutely a beautiful morning! No deer seen yet. Did have one run off in the dark while I was setting up. Decided to try something out of the norm for me. I'm on top of a ridge, just off the side of it. Great view and have a place were it will pinch down any movement from bedding to bedding. I'm thinking 8 - 9:30 for any movement. Had 2 doe at 7yds. They were on the smaller side. Sleet or rain is moving back in. Good luck. Sent from my Z719DL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well, good news is I found my doe. That’s the entrance wound. It’s not as far back as I was expecting. She must have been slight quartering towards or something. She made me pay for shooting her, by running through a neighbors yard and bedding down there as a bunch of kids look on, horrified. She got the last laugh lol! Shooter buck chasing a doe at 60 yards then disappeared. Think they are still close. Come on! Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Times like this...wish I didnt live in the middle of the woods. Not just sound of wind through trees, trees crashing into each other but a deep rumbling "vortex sound " in the back ground...a little eery....
Great news that you were able to recover her, I knew you would! Congratulations Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
For those of you interested, I did actually hit her liver. I shot her at 9am, starting tracking at 2:30. Bumped her out of her bed at 3:15 roughly. That’s 6 hours of time to expire and she was still able to get up and run several hundred yards. I’m kind of amazed. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Apparently she lead him the other direction. Up the hill or my way i would have seen them. Stupid doe. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
