Well in the name of 2020, I take my rah rah speech and officially wipe my A$$ with it. The warm temps the past week has raised the water temperature. Now that it is 29 degrees.. we have insanely thick fog. It is impossible for me to navigate through off the trail unless I know where I’m going. Getting to the ridge is tough on a clear day. Being real with myself...it’s not happening today. To thick, rocks are iced over. I’m gonna back track a mile to where I was the past few days. Hopefully I can find that at least.
@vermontwhitetail , congrats sir nicely done. Love the follow along picks. @cls74 got your ref. Of the 2 arrows from dnoo to vt
All set up in MD, a cool 38 degrees this morning, dads on the other property down the road, got to the base of my tree and could see a big deer skylined on the hill behind me, couldn’t get the binos up fast enough to see if it was a buck or doe, checking out till daylight good luck out there guys! This cold spell should heat up the thread today
All set up. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, I had a deer tramping around under my stand for about 5 minutes. He left now I can finally layer up, cool 32 degrees right now. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

In the tree. A bit of clanking getting set. But good looking spot. In a pine, cedar comes up about a foot above my feet (great fore and back cover). Went with the bow this morning and a side arm. Rifle would've been too much extra weight and fumbling. Deer bed 70yd west in some brambles. I've bumped deer, uh, bumping up here on the pine hill before, but I think I've got 10days till rut here. Looking for a cruiser... Or a covey of does... Also, I was the only person here when I pulled in. But I think I'll have somebody 1/4 s as I saw 1400 night eyes on the logging road. Smh. Also bumped 1 near the vehicle a mile away. I'm hoping the 4-6"rain we had here midweek will have them on higher ground. Here we go...
In the backyard posted up deer in the bottom and about 150 - 200 out on the ridge thermals own the night ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm sitting out this morning, was up late and planned on sleeping in, so much for that. Ill be following along from the couch. Back in this afternoon on Doe patrol. Can't shoot another Buck in NJ until January 1. Depending on Covid lock downs who knows when ill get back.
Had I realized it was gun season may have just put on a pot of coffee, dusted off the .308, and posted up on my deck lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ya that would have helped for sure. The HuntStand gps isn’t accurate enough. I should invest in a good one this off-season.
I've dealt with hunting pressure for over 25 yrs dealing with these public lands and pseudo public military bases but this year it is relentless. Just got set up. Some yahoo Walked into my set up 15 min before daylight. Whistled at him and shined my light at him. He wouldnt leave. Stood there for 5 min pondering his next move then flipped his red light on and began to set up 75 yds from me. I yelled ..he responded "yep" and continued setting up. Mind you this is a bow only area. Its packed but come on brother bowhunter. I got down and moved 300 yds. I'm up. Alive. My kids are getting healthier. I dont have to work....I guess anything can happen.
Best investment I’ve made for big woods public esp. when you walk in and scout / hang on fresh sign . Creates a trail and has topo capability... it’s great. Def recommended the Garmin 64s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
