I think a few were confused thinking you wanted it on the floor and wondered how it would hold up in that manner.

Guess I have to go back to the slang thread and add this.

Never heard of a bear rug? Some people do put them on the floor but as a decorative thing.

Made it into the property, thanks in part to the grizzly having front diff lock. It got a work out today. Here’s what the blind looked like when I walked up to it.

Once I got all the snow off of it I found that the hubs had simply released and allowed it to fold, it amazingly is fine with no damage.
There was ZERO deer sign, they have moved into the canyons.
I have two other good spots I can hunt, but they demand the range of a CF rifle.
That’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow.

"Great moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what I have here today, boys. That's what I've earned here today. One hunt; if I hunted here 10 times, I'd be skunked 9 of those times.
But not this hunt, not today. Today, they are vulnerable. Today I kill a big boy because I can. Today, I am the greatest bow hunter in the world.
I was born to be a bowhunter and I was meant to hunt the deep ridge today. This my time. The buck's time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing how hard mature bucks are to kill. Screw 'em. This is my time. Time for me to go out there and take it! "

    Swamp Brooks - 2020

I'm going deep. I know, I won't be happy with a spike or forkhorn. I've grown acustomed to the taste of tag soup, and I'm okay with having an empty freezer again till next year should I not connect on a big boy today. Go big or go home. Good luck today boys! My cell service is a bit spotty deep on the ridge so I'll update when I can.

Late night last night. I'm up and getting ready for the gun opener this morning. Normally I use my 50 cal muzzleloader. Since I'm out of buck tags I'll be totting the wife's 357 Ruger. Time for a doe to hit the dirt.

Need to get it done early so I can get my buck and what ever else des today to the processor.

Sil called dibs on the stand I hunted yesterday so I'll make do somewhere else.

Stay warm out there today friends!

No, I have a bear rug mount that is on the wall. Just never seen the equivalent for a white tail. Was also told by a taxidermist many years ago that you couldn't do similar with a deer as it will fall out too easily, but I guess it stays in fine on shoulder mounts. Just something different that I hadn't really heard off before.

I saw an absolutely massive doe yesterday but she was about 10 yards too far. I hope I see her. I’d be just as happy to shoot that tank of a doe then the 2 1/2 year olds here, although if I get an opportunity at a descent 2 1// yr old I’m using one of my buck tags. Good luck to all I’ll be on when the suns up
