Just finished lunch. Heading to shower and get dressed.
I'll catch up once I'm in the stand.
Wind change and temps dropping, should be a good evening!

Congrats noodle! Can’t see the picture but I’m sure it’s a beast... I’m set up soaked for the belly button down had to walk through grass to get here, but it’s beautiful.

I am officially tapping for the day. I’m still soaked from the walk in this morning, the temperature has dropped 14°, strong cold wind, I didn’t bring any thermals.

Wow. So many pages behind I was.

    CONGRATS!!

MN That is a funky rack. I love it.
CLS. OK. Not 140 but a damn good buck!! Most of us would shoot that as a first buck of the year for sure.
    Dnoodles What a story. Congrats!

So, my day yesterday started out windy and cold. Had a doe and fawn come by at first light. The wind died back about 8:30 but saw nothing else until 9:30. From then to noon, the deer were fairly active. Saw a spike and a HUGE body back into the swamp. No amount of calling could get him to come my way.

Had a short pause in activity from noon to 1 then it was almost nonstop with the deer until 4 and then poof-nothing at all. Saw another spike that was trying to grow brow tines.

Normally, these little guys would be pushing the does all over the county. Something is still working scrapes.

My 60 yo body is sore from the all day sit. But, I unexpectedly have some time to get out this afternoon. Gotta run!

Back in the saddle y’all. Unfortunately I have to leave at prime time this evening due to taking my son to his final flag football practice. Tomorrow I will be out all day though! Good luck tonight. Let’s go!!

Wanted to clarify on this post from yesterday.

These pics should have loaded with it, but did not due to poor signal.

Probably would have made more sense at the time

Great story. I'm glad you were able to kill that buck and get closure from the first shot. Congrats!
