Have horrible service ... gonna head into the woods rain or no rain. Could not find my rain jacket so I am just gonna open up a can of man in an under armor early season shirt.

Tony, no one is gonna think you are a liability after one of you drops the next deer. With your new found strength you are a hunters best friend. dragging deer out like...

I finally got around to uploading a few of my trail camera rut videos to YouTube. I have no idea if these links will work or not since this is my second time ever uploading anything there. The first 3 are the buck that I missed last Friday. Couple others of bucks chasing and grunting.

Here is the big one this summer. His entire left side busted off.

So, am I the only one who is wondering if we should start that bail collection?

Haven't heard from LC, RR and CTX since yesterday morning when LC could have very likely posted the image that becomes their Wanted poster

    So...

Same buck from last night. However, last night was not even close to a lethal hit. Here we go...

Climb in to a ladder stand about 150 yards from the scene of last nights crime. Within minutes of day break I have doe and fawns milling around. They never really get within chip shot range which is what I am looking for.

0630 Central, I have a doe come in on a beeline, easy 25 yard shot. I start to reach for bow and hear a grunt off into pines out of sight. I give it a few minutes then in walks this buck. Think he's a perfect 3.5 yo typical 8.

I go to grab my range finder and he pegs me, but I'm wearing the leaf suit. He keeps going from me to the doe, back and forth. The doe never sees me and starts feeding away, he growls at her and looks towards her, pins his ears back and starts trotting in straight to me. He gets in behind a couple oaks and I come to draw, he steps clear of those at 25 and turns quarter away and stops, I let it fly and it hits him mid body horizontal, 4" behind shoulder. He hops about 10 yards, walks slow for another 10-15, then goes stiff legged trying to stay upright, his butt hits the ground and he sinks down. It's over.

I give him a half hour, text @virginiashadow, my hunting partner, and my wife (in that order) and get down. Walk up to this...

Can't see here but same buck as last night. Will post wound pics later but the shot from last night hit rib and deflected up over spine. All fat

Wasn't going to, but I just picked up another buck tag.

Hate eating 2-3 tags every year, but I am not done hunting and couldn't imagine being able to take another buck but not having a tag if one walks by.

I'll be back out tomorrow, coldest day yet, 28 overnight and high of 45. Cold gear it will be.
