Shame it’s two yearlings. Walked right by me.

Won’t hit where I’m at till 6-7. Hope to be back at the truck by then! Haha. If not I’ve ridden out worse.

You ever walk so much scouting in and not find any sign and just set up in some bs place? Well that's me. 1.5 hrs walking dodging hunters and finding crap sign. I ran out of juice and set up with the wind blowing downhill on the edge of the softwoods and big pines. 0% chance anything happens.

Buckle in well-hope you have a stout tree. Not sure where you are hunting but up here by Green Bay, the winds will be gusting to 50 MPH until about 9 AM.

Sure hope the weatherman is wrong about that cause I will be out in MI.

Yes... The first day I got into the herd of elk. Mid day found a game trail and followed it 3 or 4 miles... Headed toward an area I had marked as interesting... It was. I walked over 20 miles that day.

For deer, if I'm cutting my losses for a day I'm not giving up, I'm gonna explore the snot of of any corner I haven't looked prior. Start marking any rubs, scrapes, browse... Patterns sometimes emerge.

Don't give up. **** can change in an instant.

Now I can finish getting set up. Those two little guys have moved on. Wind is not what it was supposed to be but spot in at could have deer coming from anywhere. Great start to evening hopefully it keeps pace.

I’ve been there. Here lately it’s been the spots looks pretty good. Climb up and wonder hmm I should have walked over there. Winds in my face have 8/10 year old logged area? In front of me and pines / more thick to my right. Never been here before it looked good on a topo and has multiple vegetation and terrain transitions. There is also a lot of rubs some a rather large.[IMG]

I even walked the bottoms. No buck signs but a good amount of tracks. But the wind was twisting all over the place. I had to move up hill. This may be my worst set up of the year.

Couple more deer in thick stuff below me on hill. Can’t tell what they are yet. Wind is perfect if they work my way
