Headed out to close camp windows decided not to do a evening hunt there but will come back for one here. I checked garden cams and kicked up a wounded doe laying next to my blind. Then had a big wide 8 at 6:15 this morning walk by blind and under stand. Open is 6:57 here so I don't have to be disappointed..lol
Got chores done, window washing, and fixed the chicken coop blind roof. This weather has clover in farm field growing again and that coop sits right on the inside corner. They use that area to enter and exit the field from our place..

Joe I'm gonna eat so many calories you are going to be full. Seeing if the Starbucks makes the deer feel like they are in a safe space....

You need a lot more calories than that if you intend to sleep until 2021 my friend.

Slow morning here. Gonna ride it out for a while though. With this front coming I expect at least a short burst of movement on the front end of it.

I figure if I hibernate I'll burn about 1000 calories a day for 51 days until 2021. 51000 calories total.

    I'm 17 lbs overweight. 17lbs x 3000 calories=51k

I'm ready to hibernate right now before eating any food!

Daaaaaaannng! A lot has happened lately. Good to see.

@pastorjim08 - sorry to hear about your birth mother. I've got no words to help you. I wish you peace and wisdom.

@Bullridnfool - you da man! tough to do, but also the best thing to do - as long as you don't get hurt. I held down a bucks antlers while my buddy cut the throat once...horrible experience, but put the buck out of his misery

@mike4christ - way to turn your story (or have your daughter turn your story) around. You will forever be know for..."don't be a Mike"...but now, now this story is INCREDIBLE. I am so glad you were next to her to witness the whole experience. Truly unforgettable for any deer, but Jumanji - that dude is HUGE. Great job by her and you.

I took my boat and lift out of the water yesterday - cuz it's so freakin' hot. Today I will go after work and take care of boat related items, because it is still hot out. Tomorrow should be 31 degrees cooler. I'll be out. Hopin' the colder weather will actually get big bucks moving. I know if I were a big buck, I'd rather be chasing tail when it's in the 40s. Let's hope as the temps start dropping....the big bucks start dropping as well!

Winds gusting to near 40 now, supposed to be possible to 45. Looked outside for the past 3 days and watched neighbors filling bag after bag of fallen leaves. Look out today and can't even tell anyone raked their yard. I let the wind clean mine.

Between the wind and a short burst of heavy rain with the front passage should have most the leaves down by morning, and if it can get to freezing overnight the rest will fall in the morning.
