I don't pretend to know your family dynamic and I'm not usually one to care about what others think about me; but with you being a pastor and all... the example you set of forgiveness and sacrifice to and for family may have a lasting positive effect on the rest of your family. Sometimes little things go a long way.

5 or 10 years from now, would you have regrets for not attending the funeral? Frankly, though I like deer hunting, I'd think I'd have more problems staying than leaving.

From a biblical perspective, does 'Honor thy Father and Mother' apply?

I really can’t understand it. I think MD does it perfectly ... that’s it. [IMG]

Yeah Finny this is awful this year. Halloween beginning smoke poles? They are basically rifles. All of em. This is the most pressure I have seen on Ft Pickett. Dude just pulls up 50 yds from my truck and parks this morning. Oh well public land but each increasing day of gun pressure makes it that much harder.

My solution? Starting Sat and a few times next week I'm taking my kayak to some land locked spots off the lake. Miles deep. Only chance I have to escape pressure.

Your more then welcome to a backyard hunt. I can’t promise numbers, but you never know what will pop out of these woods.

meanwhile, IL, WI and MI don't start gun anything until mid-November (aside maybe a weekend of firearm youth thrown in.)

I can't imagine dealing with the orange army before the second weekend of November.

4-6” of snow expected today/tonight. Going to try getting out this afternoon. In the middle of our rifle season here so I will likely bring both my .30-.30 with open sights and my bow.

Its Nov 10th. Where are all the wandering bucks? The dumb spikes. 4 pters? Nowhere to be seen. Maybe I need to drink Starbucks instead of Death Wish to show these 2020 Biden loving deer I care.

Just saw a nice 8 ptr at 60 yards, literally at the spot I was gonna go to. Damn.

I wish they had a door dash guy that could deliver me food in the woods. I'd order 2000 calories of pancakes and sausage and then fall asleep until Nov 2021.

I’m so tempted to move to the spot I was gonna go to. Better spot for cruising

Get over there if you feel it's the better spot. It's my opinion you need to be more aggressive now.

Got the same situation in my area of WI and southern UP. Does be wandering around without a care in the world.

Normally, the 1.5 yo bucks would be chasing the does all over the county

I am 1 mile from private property. Bunch of hounds are running around about a half mile away chasing a deer on the spot I'm hunting. Not allowed. They must have just ran off the private.
    This is crazy.

I've seen 4 does this morning, all moving back towards their bedding. I would think at least one scrubby buck or something would be coming to check things out but nothing so far
