Sent out a few more letters yesterday for some properties close to my work, also sent a few asking permission to park on peoples property to access a farm I have permission on, right now I have to walk through the cattle pasture and the cattle have taken a liking to running at me... lol

I had a hard time falling asleep last night. My mind was in deep in the woods. First time for me this year!

Let me know and maybe I can facilitate. I've hunted over most of IN except the CW/SW side.

Heading out to the lease this morning to do a final safety check on stands and do some limb trimming.

Looking forward to another great season following along with all of you. As usual, I’m running behind but I will get there.

Going out to swap cameras in WI today. Left mine out all winter who knows what's on them/when they quit.

Last time I did that I was so pumped to see what I caught through the winter. The only pics on it was closeup of my ugly mug and me walking away. Lol

9A53F71B-2C41-4E58-AC2A-275517E844B4.gif I haven’t done squat. Not going to worry about it either. I scouted a bunch last winter and know primarily where I want to hunt. Hang n hunt anyway so I’m in and out, one and done. I’ve got pretty high expectations this season

All 3 of my cameras still had juice. All 3 had malfunctioned along the way (bushnell, spypoint, and a stealth cam) and dates were completely jacked.

The Bushie was on a small food plot and just filled up the card and shut off in December.

The Spypoint just shut off sometime in November and the came back to life when it warmed up; but re set the date and then shut off again in the spring but still had appx 40% battery.

Kudos to the Stealthcam PFX-12 - was still taking pics as I walked up. Sometime in the winter it re set the date approximately 2 months back but it kept taking pics.

There is a huge 7 point that has my attention. He'd be a big sexy 6 but he's got a crab claw on one beam in the front. He might be the Son of Piggy...same daggers for G2s. Like 10"+, and he was on the property a lot.

If he made it..God only knows what he is this year.

Also shot a bit today- I'm dead nuts accurate out to 80. Weaker than I usually am though. Going to have to increase strength training or bump down to 65 next year.

    Getting old sucks.

WI Property is going to be a barren food desert this year. Heat and drought has torched the clover and it looks to be a very light acorn crop. With this much heat we can't even keep the water tanks full for more than a few days.

Was in a “destination” wedding this weekend near Milwaukee, WI which delayed my 2 week cam checks. Checking cams for the last time tomorrow. All things deer and deer hunting starts now. Only a few more weeks until season is here.

Well that was a first... just hung a treestand no more than 50 yards off the turnpike, long strip of woods that’s only about 20-30 yards wide, one heck of a deer trail going through it though!

The opener for my WMU is Sept 19th. Can't wait, because my big white oaks are due to drop! The last two years were non-producers...
