Well, bad news for the home team. I guess since the weather so nice, the farmer decided to get ahead for the spring and began plowing the fields adjacent to where I'm hunting. I can't blame him but it definitely kills the hunting for this evening and maybe tomorrow. In addition, it will make for some tough walking after it's been plowed. Very discouraging.

Local farmer looked like he was planting winter wheat or rye last night...

In the stand for the afternoon. Hoping to tag a buck but I’m not above filling another doe tag if she comes in alone.

High way back. Hoping caught liver or an arteries. Otherwise grid search on the morning. Storms tonight so going to look at last light. Shot was at 12:06 pm. Just a goofy small buck. Nothing special. He stepped and i flitched at the shot so threw it way off.

If you haven’t already started a track that’s a good thing. I would honestly wait til 1900 and see what the trial looks like... if you didn’t bump him he is likely dead within 300 yds (my guess).

Good luck PM shift, been raining here all day. The good thing is that a cold front is Going through and it is going to stop sometime during the night, should made for a good morning sit. Or at least that’s what I am telling myself.

That deer is likely dead, was he quartering away ? I wouldn’t let them rain wash all the blood away I would pick it up tonight before the rain.

Have to pick up car tonight and have my orders to go to camp to shut all the windows he wanted opened. Decided morning was so nice and dead silent, having all that activity, I'd finish other trails and cleanup ones I already did. Fixed two stands tripped with BPB and now just below knee have a softball sized black and blue lump. Hurt like hell when it happened. Tired rest and then hunt camp tomorrow. Let land rest. Uncovered many tracks....

I've beenin with the kids for a while. Ground hunt where we have seen a bunch of Does. Beautiful evening. Sliced my finger on a broadhead taking the quiver off the crossbow. Finally got it to stop.

Think he was quarting away but little like just passed broadside. 30 yards prolly 25 to 28 feet up..

Ok. So this is what all happened. Doe comes crashing out of corn field on other side of drainage. Runs full speed into the ditch and to the south. I grab my bow knowing she has to be getting dogged. Look and a buck ive seen before comes in. Crossed 1 foot deep dry creek bed and stops. 28 yards. I put 30 pin on. Just as im releasing i kinda punch it cause i see him steeping forward. I watch hit pass thru. Buck runs 50 yards and stops. Looks around and walks off to the south. 15 mins later im messing with the umbrella. Look over and see a deer come up out of the ditch and head towards cornfiled. Know idea buck or do. Eat sandwich. Phone diing so shut it off to have battery to take pictures of arrow. Get down 50 mins after shot. Grab arrow and go out to house. Plug phone in, poop on toilet instead of in woods. Talk to wife. Grab phone and go back out to stand. Sitting in stand watching for that buck or a doe. Was out prolly 40 mins max.
