Saw 2 yearlings about 30 minutes ago. Was a pretty slow morning over all. I’m out of the stand until tomorrow. Good luck to those of you hunting this afternoon.

we do that for my uncle. He's too old to be humping up and down a tree but likes the comfort of a big API climbing stand. So one of us climbs up in the stand, the other flips the ladder sticks up, guy up in the tree ratchets the top of the ladder in tight and then climbs the ladder down. Looks weird at first but once it's up there it's actually a great set up.

That double set up in your pic would be good for partner hunting or filming (minus the lack of cover.)

    Oh man, that's beautiful.....

Veterans Day will be epic. Look at the overnight temps and winds Tuesday night then winds lay down throughout the day. Would rather have a easterly component to the wind, but after the previous 6 days, ain't gonna ***** about it. There's a slaying a comin.....

Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Northwest wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

    Veterans Day
Sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

    Wednesday Night
Clear, with a low around 32.

    Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 55.

    Thursday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

    Friday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 54.

    Friday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 37.

    Saturday
A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 55.

Finally caught up on the thread. Congrats to those that have killed. Took my son and a couple of his friends goose hunting yesterday for youth day at the managed waterfowl area. Can be some tough hunting but we got a good draw and each kid got some shooting. Only killed 1 bird though but they all had a good time.

I have this Thursday and Friday off work. Looking like temps will be a little better. Planning on possible all day sits if need be.

As long as it's safe, looks like it is, I like it actually. Would have to see the whole tree to see why they did it like that and looks to be more of a gun set up than archery.

kind of ingenious, actually. Seems like it would be noisy where the V meets the pole though.

Question is do I just sit here like Forest Gump waiting on the bus bench and pray to get lucky or should I go with my original plan of public land hunting until day time pictures come ?
