at the cabin now. Will get dressed and head out shortly.
When I left here Monday morning, there was still 108 pumpkins left in my food plot right out the front door. 4 days later there ain't 1 left.
Fricken bucks destroyed 2 of my new trees.
I've never done the "traditional camp meat" thing but I'm thinking?:ninja:. Got too many deer here.
Soon as I kill a buck, I'm gonna recruit a few guys to help out:biggrin::biggrin:

Unseasonably warm here. Sure don't seem like "the rut".

    Good luck fellas.

Never would I imagined I'd get nude outside and spray my body down with scent killer on Nov 6 in Northern Minnesota. 20201106_140253.jpg

Be careful there, you're coming awfully close to Joe territory with that pic, a now infamous event. And on the anniversary of it no less. @swampstalker

I'm a bit fed up with home hunting.. So said heck with it and took LB down the hill to swamp stand and back up.. 1/2 mile down wasn't bad....about killed me coming back up!...had to stop at mid way ladder stand climb and rest a bit. So wonderful. Light breeze, the two streams that merge to a small water cascade down hill. All of the witch hazel in bloom...then I caught sight...2 big rubs one to my west and one to my south. That stand is north of a mid hill bedding wetland. So a west or preferred south east wind is needed. Gun opens in Two weeks. If the deer are around the pressure on either side(which is crazy) should push them to my 411 ft strip between it. I'm the one with cleared trails that allow me to go in before light with nearly no noise.. Pretty sure I'm also the only one that goes in so early during gun. Just waiting for those guys to come in after pushing deer.. I may give the crossbow a shot in a week winds willing. Forgot what a pretty view of the state forest lake in the valley is from that stand...the oaks there are dropping well with fresh acorns on the ground. Stream crossings weren't too bad but recent rains have kept those and muck crossings ...interesting.
Good luck guys.. Behind so need to shower gas up buy ice and pack for camp...

Here’s a pic of the doe I tagged this morning. She went 40 yards and dropped in sight. Now it’s time to get serious now that I’ve got some meat in the freezer.

Had the bow in hand, release clipped on..ready to draw when I saw her mouth was open and could tell she was being dogged. That changed the game. Held out to see what was following, saw the spike, directly behind me, chose to see if anything was behind it.

I 100% stand behind my decision and would do the same again with the given conditions. If it were in the 30s, then I would have drilled her and let her body be a decoy. I know I said IDGAF, but the game changed when I saw she was being dogged.

Thanks man. This is the guy I'm after. I've had him on camera since late June in multiple locations. So I know he lives here.[IMG]
