I to launched an arrow this morning. Shortly after I posted who is next!!!!

Presently I'm on the track job now.

I hit what I thought a little high on a buck. At 829 this morning. I backed out after I tracked about 100 yards. Very little blood. Went back in at noon. I was able to get some help. 2 friends and the property owner of the property that the buck went onto. We r in agreement that it was not a lethal hit. We tracked over 500 yards. Just small droplets of blood and 2 half dollar sized spots( he stopped but never bedded). We are grid searching now.

I'm sorry I let myself down and the game that I so respect and love.

I will strive to be better in the future of my hunting endeavors.

I'll keep you all posted. Going to continue to grid search

Sorry to hear that... I know we say it all the time, but it needs to keep being said. It Happens to everyone. It’s part of being a hunter.

    You will get another chance.

Did a little bit of scouting To confirm I was in the right spot, and I am. Decided to call it a day and head home. My dad was out hunting today so I hung out with him up in the truck for the last hour or so. Good luck to the PM shift get it done

Just saw a buck in the distance 100 or so yards away. He wasn’t interested

I called it quits at 10:30, all I seen was the doe and two fawns at 6:35. I had to rush down the ladder stand I was in, actually ended up jumping from the 5th step up. Damn honey bee was rutted up or something, kept buzzing around my arrow fletches and when I tried to shoo it away it started coming at me non-stop. Didn't want to kill it, but was stung by a honey bee as a kid and rushed to the hospital, was told I was deathly allergic to bees. I've been stung by ground hornets since then and didn't have a bad reaction, so they think it may just be one strain of bees.

I don't want to test the theory.

Also learned I'm too old to be jumping from anything anymore

After I jumped down I walked back to the stand I have not hunted yet, really wanted to see how many scrapes were opened up back that way. About half way back I noticed this, took a few closer pics where it was chipped up. There was other rubs on the opposite side of the trail as well.

You think this is a big rub? It looks like it to me, but something odd about it and how it is on multiple splits.

We don't have other critters that would do such around here.

That does not look like a rub to me. It looks like the bark itself has been discolored. At the bottom of the tree you can see the bark is starting to flake off. I wonder if it has some sort of tree disease.
