Back home and I managed to nearly hit 4pt and 2 separate doe on the way here. One doe, I hit the breaks so hard the 5 gal water bottle in back seat nearly gave me whiplash. Only deer I've seen in a while.
Camp was a blast this 62 year " heavy weight" swinging along giant white pine branches clinbing trees like I was 20 again...lol. What in the world made me think a 4 ft step ladder would reach the stand from underneath. I had just put new rungs on the 16 ft ladder that I use to get in to stand. I 'll be feeling that in the morning!
Climbed the killer hill from bottom up. Found a single deer bed over 4 ft long just 40 yrds from camp. Man been down about home hunting...I needed this trip. May get up at 3 and drive down Saturday. Guys are going down to finish work. Their tracks from last Saturday look like cattle paddock tracks now and some are whoppers, lots of doe and little ones too.

Didn't have service at the parking area when I got out. Ended up not seeing anything again tonight. I did see three tails on my way out down the pipe line. Also saw that same fox again. I wish it would get colder!

Just a heads up, and me just remembering, 50 degrees with wind and no sun will still keep the hands cold. Forgot to stop and get light gloves tonight.

Might go 80's style and make some mittens out of some old socks in the morning

Legend has it that if you say that three times while looking in the mirror you'll be automatically enrolled in a yoga class.

Ended up seeing 13 does tonight, a couple got within 20 yards but I just couldn’t get drawn, can’t believe with that many does in the area I haven’t been seeing bucks, I’ll be back at it on Saturday and Sunday!

    Not always Jim.
    It ain't "quite time" yet.
The big boys know every doe within a mile of them. They have already taken "inventory".

The older bucks know when its time, and for the most part, we, in the upper Midwest are still 2_4 days away.
To answer the question, toss up.50/50.

I have a similar looking spot and when bucks are cruising (now) its as golden as it can get.

Heres where I sat tonight. Hang n hunt which I very seldom do anymore.
I snuck along a cattails ringed lake. I got wet but temps were warm for here so I was ok.
Sweated like a Mo_Fo getting set up.
    Found unreal sign!!,
    Didn't see a deer.
On the long walk out, 3 different groups of coyotes sounded off and they were close.
I had em on 3 sides of me.
Sometimes ya just can't win even with the best layer out plans.

I’m getting into that new stand set tomorrow morning. I’ll work extra at night when it’s dark. Won’t be able to sit for more than a few hours, but something is more than nothing.
