Pulled the other camera card on the way in, have this awesome buck on it back on 10/21, the card reader I have won’t load all the images so I can’t tell what else is on there but they’ve been by that stand basically every day in shooting light since the 26th. Not nearly as much wind as yesterday, hoping the movement picks up here soon View attachment 118944 View attachment 118945

The bugs are worse today than yesterday. had to resort to the head net, which I don’t like because it does cut your visibility a bit.

I Was Sitting in my ladder stand the guys moved. Moves a bit in the wind but nice mowed path to it and apples as far as you can see many trees still loaded the tracks are unbelievable. Though they mowed through a spring that wasn't fun!
They trimmed for gun hunters but it will work for cross bow which opens Saturday.

All set up and ready for some action!! Time to punch my last tag. Needs to be a big die and offer a perfect 20 and under shot. Don’t feel like chasing any tonight. Let’s make this easy. Good luck all!!

Turkeys are in play tonight also. Haven’t been seeing the resident flock so much lately but you never know.

A balmy and I mean balmy 74 this evening in Parke County, Indiana.

Feels like an October hunt not a November hunt. Oh well.

Quick question for anyone reading before it gets real active... Which option would you choose:

    1. Hunt the property with the biggest bucks and the most potential to see a shooter buck - but not seeing any doe action whatsoever. Got about 4 or 5 target bucks + random rut bucks.

    2. Hunt the property where you saw 19 deer Saturday morning another 13 or so more this morning. A lot of doe - some bucks. But not the class I’m looking for. Got 2 or 3 target bucks that I haven’t seen in awhile + random rut bucks.

I went with 1... It’s hard for me to leave all those doe and the action. Not sure if I made the right choice or not.

It would depend on the season, if I haven’t seen much I would choose 2, if I have been having action i would choose 1

That's a tough decision!!! Is there anything to get the bucks in option 1 to get them moving? I like the does at option 2 to draw in bucks...

You went with option 1 for a reason, be confident!!

Thanks... That’s exactly what I did. I just feel like you work hard to locate doe to capitalize when they go in. You know where the doe are and you abandon them. But again - just not seeing the quality I usually do.

I could bring a decoy but it’s all timber - no field edges. Not super big on a decoy in the timber.

Scrapes. I’m hunting fresh sign. Definitely will rattle. I just wish I knew where the doe were. Completely different county and first yr hunting this property. Which is probably part of my “second guessing” if you want to go that far.

I like your decision because the big boys probably aren't chasing yet. They might be curious enough to come out early and give you a shot!

EDIT: I'm not in your area so I don't know if my theory is true
