4x3. Weird rack. Decent mass at the bases just not much else. Shouldn’t take long to score

Decided to take an R&R day today. I'm not gonna lie, the long walk, and the crazy terrain is really draining, especially having to carry in all the extra cold weather gear. I took a few spills yesterday morning going up the ridge. very close calls. I almost smashed my face into a boulder when my footing gave out. I'm pretty sure, I have the route established in my brain of how to get there now.

With the warm weather coming in today for the next week, I've repacked all my gear for the conditions. It will be nice to not have to carry in the cold weather gear, and it should make the long walks manageable for me to do every day.

I'll be doing an all day sit tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday. The rut in the woods where I hunt usually happens at night, just like 90% of all the movement, but I am in the best spot to cash in on a buck cruising. As I was walking out yesterday afternoon, I saw huge rubs, huge scrapes and huge footprints in them, down the bottom of the ridge. My brain tried playing a trick on me telling me to set up over them and I won't have to climb the ridge anymore.

NOPE....Not happening. I know that these are done at night. If a buck wants to check them, he will cruise the ridge in the morning and catch the scent with the rising thermals. I hope it will all come together for me this year. Even the blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally!

We share our ups and downs....good or bad

4pt appeared and flushed a bedded doe I didnt know was in the brush. She takes off and he follows. I hear some crunching mins later and look and a massive buck is at he 20 straight on. He turns left and gives me a broadside angle at about 18 yds and goes on the fast walk toward that doe...I have one 8 foot window and get him to stop. Settle. Release. Could have sworn I shot right over him and he dropped like hell. He took off like a bat out of hell. I wasnt even stressed. Heart rate was under control..getting down to check arrow soon. Looked like it went right over him

My energy is at a negative balance
