Spooky deer over there? I was pinned in the stand last night. Had my wife come with the atv to pick me up. She almost had road kill. They didnt leave until she was 30 feet away and then they ran back toward her.

I ended up seeing 4 different bucks tonight. There were quite a few does. Nothing to close. None of the bucks were all that big. What a great night. Fun. Fun.

Yeah I guess. He was 75 or so yards from me and they were another 30-50 away from me. The biggest one was reallll skittish she pegged me once but the leaf suit saved me.

Sounded like he's got a 2 cycle and was hard revving. I know for a fact it was on purpose as we have had issues before. Nothing we can do we're on public and it's his property.

Eff it....I"m going out in the morning. Gonna be windy as a mofo, but that ridge/saddle is on the edge of a swamp, and I marked a tree to give me a better shot opportunity that this past Saturday. I have a class till 10pm. Alarm set 0230. Gonna be another brutal walk, in shorts with windchills in the teens.

Swamp's sherpa service provides in all weather conditions

    1) she wouldn't be surprised at all
    2) she will never know as I'm in Michigan and they charge a 10 cent return deposit on bottles and cans so these will end given to a local guy who lets us keep our campers on is property in between hunting trips. He's dirt poor so we throw him a couple hundred bucks and all our cans every year and he's very appreciative; as are we. I do contribute about double the cans as every one else; but I'm a big thirsty boy and I feel it's my duty to help the poor

Well I had a really good morning, then a real slow evening. I saw a total of 12 deer today, 4 buck, no real shooters. 2 days of work this week then I’ll be back at it Thursday through Saturday.

Fwiw - 1st shot gear has a few 2019 pieces on sale, free shipping this week on orders over $99, but a message on the bottom of an email implies a CO Friday sale on Sitka is in the plans...

Well I’m not quiet Joe but I’ve got the alarm set for 3:30, got about an hour drive down to MD, caught a giant bodied buck on camera 9am yesterday, hope he returns on the same path for a shot inside 20!!! IMG_3503.JPG

Saw one doe in a farther field and she was hauling the mail. Never saw what, if anything, was chasing her. Nothing came in to the food plot. Kind of surprising, but the way my season has gone not really.

Today was a total bust for me but that's okay.

My son in law killed a big ol' doe and my son had a chance at a trio of does but couldn't close the deal. I'd much rather them have success than me.

Where I hunt in my valley has never been a great doe stand but it's a fantastic buck travel corridor. They didn't show today but it's just a matter of time. Besides, I wouldn't shoot a doe down there this time of year anyway.

We'll get back after it in the morning.

50's for lows and upper 60's/lower 70's for highs here. As long as it's not 60's/80's I'm ok with it.

Last year I was in late season gear from sit one, was unreal. Definitely not let one sit in the truck weather though, gonna make recovery and processing hasty.
