All set up at camp in Mark Twain National Forest.

This is home for the next 2 1/2 weeks.

The scrapes and rubs are just now beginning to show up.

Something tells me it’s going to be a lot of fun.

What the heck? My son, son in law and I got camp set up in Mark Twain National Forest today.

When we checked the weather this morning the low temp tonight was supposed to be in the mid 40's. Now it's supposed to be in the upper 20's.

It's almost like mother nature sees me in the woods and tells the thermostat guy "Okay, he's back. Turn it down".
    Thanks Adam. :tu:

That spot looks absolutely majestic, guessing a lot of deer have dropped from that viewpoint

What's up with them woods? Looks like tornado/high wind damage the way the trees are snapped off throughout

    Thanks Brett. I'm due.
Tomorrow is the 2 year anniversary of my infamous Porcupine Buck. Which reminds me I need to prep another arrow tonight as I lost one today on my walkabout. Pretty sure I know where it is and I will be able to find it tomorrow, problem is it's in an entirely different parcel than I now plan on hunting tomorrow AM so I will have to scoot over there mid afternoon to get it.

I love deer camp with my cousin but dislike having my hunting dictated by someone other than myself. Admittedly, part of that might be the fact that he's one of those guys who only shoots his bow three shots the last week of September to make sure that it's still zeroed, spends half a day scouting, hangs a stand a week before opening day, gets in said stand 5 minutes after shooting light, smokes cigarettes from the stand and then strokes a 125+ inch deer almost every year. I might kind of hate him.

Another thing I like about hunting- it reminds me that I can be a selfish a-hole at times and to tone it down. What goes around and all...

Unrelated- just figured out this afternoon that I have spent this entire trip in my camper with a window next to my bed that was cracked open 3 inches. This explains why I've woken up every morning with post nasal drip and sinus headaches. Here I was hoping I had Covid 19; nope I have Dumbass 2020.
