Slow. Breezy out and really bright morning. Crazy the difference in activity in this spot this morning. Wind shift probably has something to do with it. I think the does like to bed up here on south winds not north, so no reason for the bucks to be here either right now. Gonna give her another hour.

So really what you have going on is a social experiment by your game commission.

If it is not accepted by the general public they can say " we tried". If accepted, "we listened".

Way to take a stand PA game commission!

I was going to post that I was set up and ready but that was 25 minutes ago. Got caught up on the thread. Wife and I went out to breakfast this morning. I wasn't going to hunt today because of the wind but on the way home I saw deer out on the fields feeding so told my wife see ya tonight. Any south wind is good for this spot. I'm definitely sitting out tomorrow with 30 to 40mph gust. Good luck Sunday hunters. 1604246161693.jpeg

So I sat for 6 hours yesterday afterernoon and did not see a deer. The blind I was in is only has 5.6 feet of head room. Got up to stretch several times and just couldn't get the crick out of my backx. Woke up to Charlie horses in both legs at 2 this morning. Along with feeling like death warmed over and the howling cold wind I p_ssed out and slept in! Watching this wind and hoping for a break right at dark. Will slip out on the front porch maybe about then and shoot a doe.

Great day to make venison chili and watch he Packers and the Colts games. Put them on simultaneously split screen. That way all the football fans in my house can watch their game!

Back from my KY trip. Didn't seal the deal on any bucks but she will put some more meat in the freezer. Was a good time. killzone made the 30 foot track easy. Blew threw the shoulder right into the boiler room. Trophy doe. 20201031_100517.jpeg

At the house warming up. Only saw the 2 small bucks and one doe. Headed back for the evening later on or maybe even mid day.

Well I’m finally up, had to take a detour because of a doe and 2 fawns feeding by one of the plots. Sitting on a ridge along the edge of the woods in the clear cut.

Didn't have to wait..Daughter saved me from feeling like a wuss when she let us know at 6am she was headed up for a visit. We were having coffee at the kitchen table by 8 and she just left. I would never had made it out there this a.m., I would have frozen!!! Rain and freezing rain for a while. Guaranteed the deer are in the pines. We have several great pine woods around us. Whites, Norway's, scotch and red pines. So they have plenty of places to avoid this weather. Wind just sucks your breath away.

Was a superb morning sit other then I did not see a deer?
Only sat an hour as my dog was in the cabin and he's a morning pooper.
    Could not disappoint him.
Got back to the cabin and while undressing, 5 small bucks walked by 50 yards away.
Went and made a drive for a buddy.
I kicked 2 decent bucks by him but he didn't have a clear shot.
Quick nap, shower and back in a stand.

I just used video on my phone camera. Not sure if it’ll come through, it’s quite a ways away.

Women eat when they are stressed. The wife has been trying to get me to buy a new truck for months. I settled for this...

Revamping my entire setup today. Trying to shave some weight off so I don't feel like a sherpa going up Everest. My existing modded viper platform/climber is taking a backseat to an old hand climber that my dad made in the 90s. it weighs 4 pounds and I"ll be using a wild edge tree step with a platform I made that weighs 1 pound. 4 pound reduction.

I"ll also be using a backpack that I had bought a few years ago, that was made for hauling in ground blinds, that has a waist strap to shift the weight of the load to my hips. This offseason, I'm making the investment in Sitka gear to reduce the bulk of the crap that I have now.
