Pretty sure permits have went on sale OTC here. Think I'm going to print off an either sex app and mail it in. Only way to get a buck tag for $15 otherwise you have to buy a combo tag, not planning on making soup this year

It's all in jest and good fun, if you couldn't make fun of it yourself I never would have went there.

Took me 7 slugs for a doe about 4-5 years ago, thought she was down after the first shot until she came tumbling out of the briars on two front knees and layed down barely in view with obstructions.

I had the same thing happen a few years ago... dropped it in it’s tracks first shot, got back up and ran in the brush. I felt awful but that thing was filled with holes

What made mine worse was took it to the processor. I can imagine the conversations.

my first buck ever was a nice 2.5yo 8 point. It took 5 20ga Rottweil Brennekes to put it down- even though first one was in the heart. Rest of them were as he ran off. Hamstring, front leg, and then jaw finally dropped him. I walked up and put one in the back of his neck because he was still trying to get up.

The first shot was more than enough. I was 16 and didn't know any better.

Good to see you practice that femoral artery shot. I would hate to think that would be an accidental shot placement.

My brother is currently moving to Illinois (not by choice). I'm hoping we can find a place in Indiana to meet in the middle for some hunting.
