A bunch of does came down and there was a 15 minute crazy chase with 4 bucks. The biggest was a 125" eight pointer.

Real slow here. Doe and a fawn. Neighbors have been shooting rifles for the last 30 minutes. Not far from me at all.

Asked hubby if he saw deer on way home. No but he did see a bunch of guys hunting( trucks and cars along roads).
Son a crew going to camp to clean up around the stands and fix...lol I shake my head. So may go down to fix my stand and let area rest until crossbow opens. I may set up a saddle or two spots..crossbow because to avoid down hill runs I need shoulder shots. I don't have any way of getting deer out otherthan my dragging. Camps a biggerheart attack hill than even here.

So not looking the greatest, but I still have hope. After I jumped him I circled down wind on back side. I walked a mowed path and found his track, but no blood. He crossed into another thicket. So went back to were I jumped him. Found 2 small puddles of blood and that's it. No bed, he was just standing there for 2 hours, which seems strange. He was to hurt to even bed. So followed his tracks 40 yards and it popped out right on the path I found the track. So I left him be in that thicket and will head back in the morning and do a body search.

The only problem is its public land and tomorrow is last day of muzzle loader season and the place might be full of people. So not sure what to do with that. Going to parking lot in morning and see if any cars parked there. I'm about 50/50 on if he is dead or alive. Definitely a strange hit.
