So, I’m walking to my stand and I can see a doe standing directly under my tree. (80 yards roughly)What do I do? Lol

I'm up. Let's get this vacation started right. Surprisingly I'm finding way more deer sign in the state forest than on the base I hunt. Sitting a pretty classical leeward side of a ridge below bedding. I've been busted so many times this year hunt "creatively " that I want to hit myself. There is a break in the old fence below bedding and an old road rolling through it. Plenty of white oaks. Does and bucks are on the hit list.

Well, the gig is up. I got about 35 yards from that doe when I jumped a second doe from her bed about 20 yards away. I was too focused on the first deer. Lesson learned I guess

I’ve been up for about an hour after getting down for a quick lunch and some fresh socks. Nothing moving yet, perfect conditions though.

One of my big 8's just cruised behind me at 25yds in the thick stuff where I had not shot. Ugh.
Didn't care about me grunting or wheezing at him.

All setup! Had to ninja past a 6pt, but I got by without blowing out the woods. I can smell the murder in the air! I might give some rattles and grunts in about 20min, it’s never worked but what the hell. I debated staking into the cedar thicket but I’d be going in a direction they would see me, so I’ll just hang out in this tree.

It's actually more comfortable than my padded seat and doesnt let my back round which should help with my back pain. I like it..much lighter too.

I keep trying to tell other folks that it's just as if not more comfortable than the famed Summit Seat but most just scoff and say it's not possible.

Guys something just happened! But I'm not sure it will turn out good.

Just had a big buck come down rubbing and scraping at about 40 yards. Did a soft grunt and he came up to me. He stopped naturally and I shot. I think I drilled him in the shoulder and probably hit at least one lung. He thru the arrow and ran off for 20 yards. Then just took small steps and only moving maybe 10 feet at a time. Watched him for 5 minutes and he never layed down. Lost sight of him now. This sucks! The shot hit pretty much in the scapula about 5-6 inches below his back. I'm surprised I missed the spine.
