Well I wasn’t out tonight but I was able to confirm some “rutcation” days at work. 11/2, 11/5, 11/6, 11/11. If a few other good weather days pup up the next week, I should be able to take a few more if needed.

    It’s been a fun year!

Not sure if I should have shot that one tonight. I told myself I would when I saw his trail cam pics (since I haven’t killed a buck with my bow). I guess in my gut I knew he was too small for me otherwise I would be tracking a deer!

    The hunt continues tomorrow morning.

Saw 3 deer, a spike and then 1/2 hr later saw a small buck follow where I saw a doe was 3 minutes earlier.

Suppose to be in the 30's tomorrow. I'll be out in the am.

Just got home. That was one of the best hunts I've ever had!! I'm guessing, by last count, that there were 25ish deer out tonight. That one buck is an absolute tank!!! 50yds was the closest he came. Never even looked at my blind. Snort wheezed, stomped, lip curl, he did it all!! The only time we found his sheds, he scored 167 and that was in 2014. The 3 1/2yr old 8 is a definite up and comer!
It was a blast!!! Our boys did a great job of helping brushing the blind in @early in. Thank You!!

    Damn you guys move fast.
Looks like chits about to break loose.

Drowned my sorrows by taking a cruise this evening.
Crazy amount of deer out. Would guess I seen about 200.
Funny thing is they were calm tonight?
Could stop n glass a bunch right off the roads and they wouldn't run?
    Multiple spots.

Great cruise but can't figger out why everything was so calm?

Seem about 15 bucks . No chasing but alot of posturing.

Some great up n comers that id say were 4 year old. Nice 140ish type.
    No biggies tho.
Made my pissed off mood a little brighter.
This thread is awesome! Love seeing the pics of everyone's set up.

Lone doe was all I saw. That spot is really thick with just a few a lanes and limited visibility, but I could hear lots of movement below me.
Wind swap overnight means location swap that more of a view. If that doe would've turned right instead of left she would've been broadside at 10 yards. Close calls aren't all that bad, but they aren't that good at this point either.

Wow sounds like it’s kicking off right on time! You guys are killing me. I called in to work for PTO day tomorrow. That gives me tomorrow morning to hunt the heavily traveled creek bottoms. Around 1Pm or so I’ll set up a ground blind Over a clover plot for my first hunt with my 5 year old daughter. So pumped for that. Then I’ll hunt Halloween morning and all day Sunday. Work from 11/1 - 11/6 then off for 9 days straight.

mudshark, we now have one heck of a spot to hunt with tons of deer this late season if you want to make the trip sometime.

my friend that owns this property is now starting to think about hinge cutting all of the woods on his property to create one massive bedding area around these fields. i have also talked to the farmer leasing these fields (another friend of my from high school) and he is going to leave some corn up for me next season too. this is all coming together nicely.
