Last night I was in my stand and @4:30 I had 4 does start blowing up in the woods and ran out behind me into the corn. Come to find out my wind had changed and I got that sunken feeling of probably not seeing anything. 5 min later a small buck ended up walking towards where they were originally blowing at.
I ended up seeing several deer and even a good size buck come out that evening. So keep in mind things aren’t always as bad as we play it out to be. Mentally it gets you down but anything can happen.

Up but yet again not out...1/2 in. Of rain due to start at day light. It stopped raining and near full moon at night...They will be hunkered down from a night of feed and chase. Temps due to drop like a rock and snow. Then next week back to 60's.... The cut clover fields have had zero activity for near two weeks not even at night. All ag crops, beans and corn gone. Just WW and some of that was planted early and is a foot tall. I don't know where they've gone this year. They aren't making a showing here any more. Acorns are piling up, though chestnuts in open clover /weedy plot are eaten at night. I haven't even heard buck fight or grunt like I normally do. There were SO many buck here before the opener.

So funny when they do that. Young bucks are so curious they want to see what all the fuss is about

Well, I brought my knives into work to clean them up before I finish cutting and grinding tonight. This guy came in and gave me a broadside shot. I ranged him at 1 yard and let if fly. Shot placement was a little far back but it got the job done. E5C61D74-0177-4F7A-A56A-FABCACE62EEB.jpeg

Just an absolute nightmare getting into the stand. Took a round about way and got turned around. Made so much damn noise.

Sweating worse than two mice fuc*** in a wool sock.
