I can go back and find it as I posted about it in LFTS shortly after, may take me a bit, but remember it vividly. I was switching stands, from my self dubbed "ambush stand" to the "walnut stand", where I have killed my last 3 bucks. This was back several years, maybe 2012 or 13, anyway I was still hunting my way as I usually do when I switch stands. I round a bend and as the stand I want to sit comes into view I see a doe, she also sees me and we had a bit of a stare off. I kept inching forward as she stared intently at me, I got to about 50-55yds or so and she started the stomp. I was surprised she had let me close the distance to that point, 30yds in total, and decided to hop into the oak stand 5 yds from me. As I started climbing, 8 ft aluminum ladder bungee corded to a limb to step on to get to an angle iron base with wooden seat that had been there so long the tree itself grew around it and replaced the need for lag bolts, she started blowing. By the time I got seated she was already headed elsewhere and then all heck broke loose. 3 or 4 bucks came out into that pasture area and were running around like labradors or hounds, nose to the ground and combing that area. To this day I have never seen anything like it, nor heard of anything like it. I has a Sony handy cam on my bow at the time and by the time I got it recording I caught the tail end of it as two of them were still there but not running amok like they had been.

Ever since then, aside from in the dark, anytime a deer starts blowing at me I'll stop and get ready and maybe grunt back or something. I doubt I'll ever get a repeat of what I seen that day, but I guarantee I'll never forget it. All I keep thinking and wondering is the what if, what if I had just continued on to that stand, whether I made it or not I may have been able to get a shot at one of them. They weren't giants but I'd have shot one if given the chance, hell I may have gotten ran over or gored just the same

Having a deer blow while walking I am never deterred, if I'm on stand it can be discouraging and might opt to move afterwards.

And sorry, got off topic a bit, but yes I would still hunt if a deer blew while walking into stand. Especially this time of year.

Deer blow at other deer, predators and often at nothing. Have seen shows where they say it is a deer saying "who are you" when they can't identify something, but I've seen them blow at me as well so know it can work both ways. I don't know that it does anything but put other deer on alert, maybe makes some work dowind of where the deer was blowing or something, but other than the one deer I wouldn't be discouraged.

No weight bearing for 6 weeks total ... no pain at all when I’m in my recliner... limited mobility for sure... extreme pain otherwise...

Congrats! Love that shot placement as well.

Truthfully, I wish more people would back off the shoulder a bit as with this shot. Plenty of lung to be had and a lot more forgiveness in those drop/step/jump scenarios. I'll never aim for that crease again, but that's just me. For me aim small miss small equates to missing small and tagging the leg or knuckle joint. Since I stopped with a heart or tight shoulder shot aim recovery has been within shooting distance most times, 50yds at best if not.

    Congrats man!!

Had that 4pt chasing everywhere tonight. Pulled a chip on a cam and got a vid of a smaller 8pt chasing today at 1pm.

Tomorrow will be my first morning sit of the year.
