Beautiful out here but havent seen anything. It felt much colder yesterday morning. Going to hunt til 10am and figure out the pm hunt. I'm like 2 to 3 miles from any neighborhoods yet can smell the wafting scent of weed in the woods. Lol
That was definitely not a mountain lion. I have walked up on a few kills from cats. I do not think any animal predator did that. If it was not caused by some kind of interaction with a person or farm equipment, the only other explanation that seems plausible to me is some kind of rare flesh-eating disease or bacteria. But, it would probably take an autopsy by a wildlife biologist to confirm that.
More than once have I found somebody's 'garden' or another hunter smoking it. In CO, I literally had another guy I ran into, asked me if I wanted to partake in smoking with him, which I declined...
All these weather channels stink. Shows holding north winds pretty much all day. Well it is now blowing from the south which is terrible for this stand. Going to scout my way out through another bedding area to see if there is sign.
Man it is dead calm and quiet this morning. You would think deer would be running everywhere but I haven't even seen a squirrel so far Sent from my SM-N950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm leaving now for my happy hunting grounds. LFTS when I get in and settled. Good conditions, weather wise. This is my first "serious" hunt of the season. It's game on!
Good luck fellas! I sat this morning out since it was 12 degrees with a 10 mph wind... way to early for this crap
We are heading into a full moon this weekend, skip getting up early, hit the woods late morning to midday and sit all day. Early morning won't see much action until Monday or Tuesday as the full moon begins to drop off...
Saturday is my day. Conditions are setting up perfectly to hit the ridge I've been waiting to hunt all season.
Live from the mancave.. we are currently experiencing an ice storm, trees falling all around and roads are chit. This all breaks Thursday afternoon and Bob will disappear into the woods shortly thereafter..
Good luck dnoodles! Any of you east coasters seeing this Halloween weather. Warmer then rain on Fri. Cold, wind, and sunny=bucks. Same with next Monday. Sat may be an all day sit.
100% If I learned anything else from Johnny Herman's BHOD episode last week; it's that deer will move like crazy in exactly that setting. Completely destroyed my long-held belief that deer don't move in high wind. I find that I like having long-held beliefs destroyed by video evidence. Kind of humbling. Being humbled is good. Which is probably why I like bowhunting so much- I find I am humbled by something almost every sit. When hunting ceases to be humbling it becomes just killing and I have no passion for that.
Ok, quick update now that I have service. Had a guy totally blow my hunt on the farm last night. We aren't sure if it was a trespasser or the one guy who had permission here that they are trying to contact to let him know he is no longer allowed. Didnt hunt this morning but am about to head in to scout for a hang and hunt spot. Snow needs to soften up a little so its not all crunch crunch... No clue what I missed on here and not even going to try to catch up. Good luck turds. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
