Saddlehunter version of “Bro.” Only those who have tagged a human doe from the saddle are allowed to say it.

Haha, pretty sure I could have put it in my backpack. Now if it's mommy comes thru, might be a different story!

Built a 14x14 deck yesterday for a customer. [My brother and I are teachers. We use the skills my late father taught us as a summer time business] I really wanted to hunt, but it's good money. Left my house at 615 am and returned home at 9pm. I was hoping for more bucks down. Maybe today.

Happy- it may sound silly, but you CANNOT find blood unless you are on his trail. You need to go back to last blood. Could he have back tracked or taken a sharp turn? Back to last blood and search all directions. Maybe he knew he couldn't cross there so he turned around and crossed some where. Good luck to you.

Because of the long work day yesterday, I slept until 6. I should be up by 530. It was 35 minutes until shooting light and I was 50 yards from tree when I saw a wide set of eyes. It walked off quickly. Then, another wide set of eyes 40 yards from stand and it looked bedded. I didn't want to climb my tre with it there. so I took a different trail away from stand...2 more sets of eyes, but didn't look as big. Every set of eyes was less than 30 yards from me. I went back to my truck, short walk, and read LFTS for 20 minutes. I grabbed a flashlight and looked for the deer bedded near stand, and could not find. I was in my stand right at shooting time 737, but cloudy and still too dark. I knocked an arrow (LC) put my release on and sat dow. 2 minutes later I hear noise, so I stand up. The deer was closer than I thought. It runs off- sounded heavy. Dang.

I had 2 fawns walk under me at 815 and had a doe with fawn go by around 9. 20201025_093445.jpg 20201025_093445.jpg 20201025_093445.jpg

Just had 2 more fawn come in. The one farther away is bb. I saw mom turn around 50 yards away. Planning on sitting until 11ish, another 80 minutes. Odd to see all the doe and no bucks here. At this location, I'll only shoot a buck right now.

If you have an iPhone try out the Darksky app. I used to have it on my android until they got all tarded and made it an iPhone exclusive..:dan:

I now have MyRadar on my phone and for $3.99 a year it is pretty kick ass. Lots of radar access and pretty accurate.

I think I’m going to hop down and circle downwind of a low bedding area that may have some wind cover. That’s the direction the buck headed toward this morning after I whizzed an arrow over him

And of 3 non consecutive years of hunting corn field edges with corn in, I have yet to see a deer eat corn from the stalk

Thought I whiffed this morning but I guess I didn’t. I didn’t look hard enough and figured the way the hill drops off, arrow was in the bottom. We’re tracking! image.jpg

Just had a little buck walk under me. 9 in fork on left and split 3" spike on right. He'll be easy to identify if he keeps that in the years to come.
