Is it just me, or is this thread unusually quiet?

I assume that not a lot of people are off work to hunt yet. It'll light up later this afternoon and this weekend will probably be bananas.

No other deer seen except for the one I bumped first thing this morning.

However I found several scrapes walking out. They were not there yesterday when I walked in the afternoon 230-300pm. Had to be from last night. I doc a couple up. Date night with the wife tonight but I'll be out in the am. Good luck all between now and then.

Next week the wife leaves for KY. So next wkend will just me in a tree.

    Later

It's quiet because there are only two or three dedicated hunters out giving it their all while the rest of you slackers sit around sipping coffee. :whip:

Of course, there's the fact that those dedicated hunters who were out this morning are retired...... (what ever happened to that "hiding under the chair" emoticon?)

bruh, I would start a prophylactic antibiotic regimen now- something like only 40% of Lyme patients ever develop the rash.
The earlier treatment is started the better off the result. Plus there's other tick borne diseases.

I have impatiently waiting to get into my better spots, if I go in to early it tends to do more harm than good. That being said, tomorrow morning it starts.

Waiting on UPS to deliver at work, then I'm out this B. Normal guy I text isn't working today, new guy doesn't know the drill.

I meant in general. I could be remembering incorrectly, but it seems this year has been slower than previous years as far as tags being filled. Take LC out of the mix and there would only be a few tags filled here in 319 pages of messages.

77 and breezy, drying up the last 4 days of rain. Soooo......I just came in from leaf blowing half the yard and 300 ft drive then trails to several sets. About 1/3 of them. Back pack not getting any lighter. Lunch and then out for s few more...until I run out of fuel. Hot so I know they are bedded until front comes in.

Thanks.. Just a matter of time till I cross paths with one of those dudes.. I've had the camera over that scrape for the past 4 years.
Tree stand is 18 yards SW of it!

Just hope the pucker factor doesn't lock me up and I screw the pooch one one of them!

Its smoking hot here in Central VA. Two minutes into me scrubbing my stink seat I'm sweating like crazy. We need that front to come through mid week next week.

To be very honest, the ONLY reason I haven't been hunting lately is because I'm dealing (5 days now) with what I believe is nicotine withdraw. Being a quitter ain't easy! It's very much like having the flu. My sleep is all screwed up, so much so that I woke in the middle of the night soaking wet from sweat, so I guess that's from having a high temp. I get chilled and feel kind of drained/fatigued a lot of the time. Slight headaches are also a part of it. I do feel a good bit better today.

I was considering getting tested for Covid, but I don't have some of the most important symptoms. My breathing is as normal as it gets for me, no cough, and I can smell and taste just fine. I WILL, come Hell or high water, be checking my cams on Sunday. I'll also hang a stand while I'm in there.
