Just climbed in stand first sit of the season. 65 deg with a steady north wind. Sitting on the edge of small food plot with hardwoods behind me dropping acorns. It feels awesome to be back in the stand.
If i thought it was windy before...holy hell. It is now!! Im swaying like a drunk at 3am. Im in a big white pine and by big i mean 2 of us could wrap arms around it and not touch the others hand.
I asked if he wanted to hunt, he said yes! Off we go, no scent control, no plan, outside play clothes, but we are here! Snacks, drinks, iPad(just in case) and big blind, we are ready for action! I was going to wait until turkey season, but this is our first hunt. He has probably the best luck of anyone, he can nail the bonus hole for tickets at the arcade, maybe he’ll bring me a 200” deer. I’d settle for just seeing deer for him though.
Buck must be an angry one lol. Scrapes all over the place too. I know where I will be in the morning Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Wind died down but i see more rain on the radar. Had a doe, spike and fork stroll though. Now i need dad or gramps to come by
Went to my first spot only to find wrong wind and another crossgunner. So I quickly moved to my blind down the road. Wind is good and I just had two fawn does at 3yds. Going to be a good night. I'm not on a doe mission yet until I make more room in my freezer.
Brother just text me. Shot his first fall turkey with a bow. He is hunting a new stand I hung over bean field.
I'm up. My next book will be "A bowl of beans, three beers for lunch and other bad ideas". Making some racket in here! That last snort wheeze was scary. Good luck everybody. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
