Walking to my neighbors across the street at like 1530 saw group of does in the woods headed to my stand over looking a bunch of white oaks dropping like crazy. Dropped down took stand off knocked an arrow an waited. Took her about 30 min to feed close enough on alert the entire time cause I was DDW. Once she got inside 20 quartering away I let it fly. Stuck in opposite shoulder she went about 100yds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lest I jinx myself, I'm playing with a new app that is supposed to be pretty good with the wind...and weather. It's called the windy app...not sure how your fare being color blind, but may be worth checking out...
Welp....up tree for like 4 minutes and yearling comes in and I'm completely not ready yet, just had gotten bow arm hung and camera up. On a reduction property and owner wants a young deer for the freezer it would have been perfect. By the time got bow up she was no longer in 15 yard shot hole but behind trees and never did offer a shot again. Gosh dangit.
I’ll check it out. I need to find something that can predict the wind with at least some degree of accuracy.
Congrats Finny!! I ended up stumbling around the woods in 80 degrees for an hour and a half just to get soaked in sweat in some thick nasty stuff so I went back to the car after I wasn’t happy with anywhere I scouted, have the camera back out where I sat this morning, this mobile hunting stuff is tough going in blind when it’s thick and hot like that
Well nothing so far and it's close quarters with questionable winds that keep shifting around. The blue Jay's are squawking to the north. Never set up here before and I'm not far from several big scrapes, so i know they are traveling this pinch point. Yee ha! BTW, congrats Finny!
