Congrats Jim, Vanfossen, VT, and a belated congrats to Mudshark!

Jim idk, I had a buzzard on my doe after a couple hrs last gun season. It ate the tongue out but it didn’t have any flies or other nastiness going on. My first impression was that the wound in the rib cage looked old. Maybe swamp was right and that was different deer. I just don’t see the cavity filling up with flies that fast. But stranger things have happened! Those things happen. Dust yourself off and back in the saddle

I made the mistake of buying a set of UA bibs that didn't have the 2-way zipper.
Other than that, I really do love those bibs. They're great between 35-20 degrees, warm without making you sweat, silent, water resistant. Awesome.

    I never wear those bibs.

I was reading an article a couple months back where buzzards in KY (not far from Jim) have evolved a predatory tactic where one or two will land somewhat near to a calf or young cow...then spend the next couple hours creeping closer to the cow, hopping around like they are not interested in the cow. After a couple hours, they get close enough they hop up and take out its eyes. Then it's done. All the rest of the buzzards fly in and eviscerate it.

Wow. Congrats to your daughter vermontwhitetail! That is so cool. Nothing like your first compound bowkill. That is impressive. Make sure to pass along my congratulations! Glad it’s a family affair over there y’all!

So overall great hunt. Sat on a pinch point with several trails intersecting. Pretty thick in there, furthest shot window is 25 yards. Heard some good vocals from the 2 does. Lol thought it was a buck soft grunting at first coming behind me. Wind was perfect. Couldn’t finish the evening sit after slamming the doe at 20 yards because 10 mins after I heard splashing threw the creek and it was a coyote heading towards my doe. Complete pass threw and about 6 “ in the dirt. Recovered with 2 oldest kids. All focus on a big boy now
